BC Tour

by on Nov.11, 2006, under Beta

My friend Inian was over and I was showing him around some of the zones he hadn’t seen yet. I was finishing some exploring of the map in Nagrand.
Here is one of the many demon camps you’ll find around there. I’m sure there is some quest involving them.

Here is my fully explored map now, yay! :)

I flew over to Blade’s Edge Mountains so he could see the newly opened zone. When i came here the first time I never noticed all the impaled dragons on the spikes.

Lastly a shot of the tempest keep as I flew over it heading to Area 52.

BC Spell Update

by on Nov.11, 2006, under Beta

A beta priest got Prayer of Mending and gave some info on the beta board on some exciting changes to the spell.

Spell Description from the BC Spells and Talents information:
Requires Level 68
976 Mana
30 yd range
Instant cast
Places a spell on the target that heals them for 702 to 858 the next time they take damage. When the heal occurs, Prayer of Mending jumps to a nearby raid target. Jumps up to 5 times and lasts 1 min after each jump. This spell can only be placed on one target at a time.

Spell Description from in game (differences in bold):
Requires Level 68
390 Mana
40 yd range
Instant cast
Places a spell on the target that heals them for 800 the next time they take damage. When the heal occurs, Prayer of Mending jumps to a raid member within 20 yards. Jumps up to 5 times and lasts 30 seconds after each jump. This spell can only be placed on one target at a time.

Though the time it stays on a person was reduced to 30 seconds, the mana cost reduction makes this spell a lot more usable I think. He goes on to say if you are duoing it will jump between both of you which is awesome for Inian and I :) He also reported it received 43% of +healing and cannot crit. The non criting thing is kinda sad I think. I think the spell as it was changed would be very useful in 5 mans, and I could of definetly used it last night :) I look forward to giving it a try when I get my beta butt up to 68 :)

BC Mana Tomb

by on Nov.11, 2006, under Beta

So I switched over to beta blogger today before I started this post so hopefully this turns out well. It looks like they added some good features so I’m hopeful it works well :)

Anyways I had time to get in some good Beta play today. With my 98% rest exp I began looking for a group. Before I found one with LFG I got a random tell for a Mana Tomb group. I hadn’t been yet so I went.

This place is very interesting full of all those nether energy guys. Here I am standing on what I would only describe as energon cubes as we pull the first boss who is surprisingly close to the entrance. We defeated him pretty easily and he rewarded me with a fabulous wand, the Voidfire Wand!

The zone is very interesting with lots of their wierd Stargate looking portals around and nether energy flowing to and fro.

This was the second Boss and he was even easier than the other guy. They just had me sit at max range and heal since he does a lot of AOE damage. He did have a single target poison he kept hitting me with that the paladins were too slow to cleanse. He dropped a delicious healing cloak for me called the Cloak of Revival. Good replacement for the green healing cloak I was wearing from one of the first quests in BC.

Here is the obligatory Murky dance off in Mana Tombs shot :)

This was the last boss fight which we did not win, nor get a second chance at. He has these energy balls around him that if you don’t kill become annoying apprentice’s that are casters of course and start blasting you with 1200 damage fire balls. Well someone didn’t care of them and they started owning us. Then because we took so long the zone was repoping and we didn’t get to try again.

I was at the bottom end for the level of this zone so it was actually challenging, much more so then The Underbog. We had 2 Paladins and Rogue besides me and the Warrior so no crowd. This meant I was getting hit a lot, and this is really the first time I was using Pain Suppression ALL the time. Considering these mobs were all 64-67 they hit like a truck. Plus their were plenty of casters who were mean. Especially the ones that mana burn you for HALF your mana… Their were also these little nether flying eel things that used something like arcane explosion did a lot of AOE damage to the group. I also found myself using Power Infusion a lot during some of the more hard pulls for burst healing. Especially when we were dealing with the casters.

It was a lot harder because we had so called DPS Paladins who didn’t want to heal, Bless anyone or cleanse. So I was doing all the healing with only occasional help, little to no help with dispelling and me having to constantly harass them for Salvation and Wisdom. They died all the time too which you don’t normally see Paladins do. There were some pulls where I Just couldn’t cast enough to heal everyone and since neither one of them would we lost people. Well I said screw it and gave the tank priority and they wouldn’t even heal them damn selves! At the end one of them was complaining about having 30% durability :b The rouge and warrior were good though :)

It was fun though and I’m liking my Disc bulid more and more now. Oh and I was getting rested 1200-1300 exp a kill and everyone else was 65 or 66. I’m like 50% to 65 now :)
