Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

Today was the AV daily for once so I did that.  Inian came on and we both did a few more AV runs.  The last run I did took forever Inian did like 2 while I was in it.  It was funny though because we made a comback.  Amazingly it looked like the horde would win by reinforcements but we managed to get some offense going got their base and was on Drek.  I was watching as people died the number ticking down and down but drek went down when we had 4 left!  Talk about a clutch victory!

After that Inian and I went to work on our Kurenai and Constorium faction through much Ogre genocide.

Did my usual cooking daily followed by some treasure hunting.  Working on filling our potion tab in the guild bank

I kept an eye out for the heroic daily and got in one and for once was a good group.  Managed to complete it very quickly and very painlessly.  I hadn’t done heroic Slave Pens before.  I also continued the attunement quest that is going to be outdated soon    Now I just need to go kill gruul!

All the more badges toward my 150 goal for the Gavel of Naaru Blessings.   I’m going to follow that with Anveena’s Touch (60) and then finish out with Adorned Supernal Legwraps (100).  All of these things will be great upgrades for me.  Especially finally replacing my Naxx ring   The badge loot is the only excite loot for me I think.  Other than a few DPS pieces all the MT stuff heroic or not is not something I’m interested in.  It is all mostly spell haste stuff and I don’t care about spell haste.  I want more Healing and Mana regen, being able to spam faster doesn’t excite me.  The one other item in 2.4 I’d really like is the Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration. I’m Aldor exalted so it will proc +220 healing for me   This is an exalted reward from the new faction so it will be just a matter of the dalies and MT runs for it!

Well I completed my max exalted with Ogri’la today.  Didn’t have much energy to do much else besides my cooking quest. PvP daily was WSG, definetly didn’t have the energy for that.  At least it wasn’t EOTS which it has been for like 3 straight days.  I swear Blizzard needs a better random number generator.  This goes for all the random dailies.

I got on late this evening not much time to do an instance, but I did run over and do my dailies and got Exalted with Ogri’la.  I’m not max exalted that will have to wait till tomorrow. I could have got almost there but decided not to do the more annoying quests and just do the 2 I like to do tomorrow again

Then I went to farm some Netherweb silk to finish my last Primal Mooncloth Bag for the bank! Glad to have that one finished I have 108 regular slots and 84 enchanting bag slots.  So now I even happen to have a few extra slots.  I was getting full on enchanting supplies until I sold some off to fund all my green to blue gem upgrades I did this weekend on my healing gear.  I decided it was about time I had upgraded.

Just before bed I went ahead and respeced into my 24/37/0 healing/damage build.  I wanted to start getting used to it again before 2.4 comes out.  Basically I’ll be a much more effecient healer, making Heroics easier but do 5% less damage and crit 5% less.  The loss of Mental Strength is of no concern to me at all, and well PI was going to not be fun anymore soon anyways.

Before logging I spent some time with Pitbull fixing it up a little bit.  cknight has been doing a ton of work on the mod recently and I needed to fix a few things.  I think I got me and my party frames squared away just got to work on the raid frames a little still.  Which reminds me I need to get back to my mod section again and put together the invidiual mod pages

I did my ogr’la dailies and am now just 1 more day off from being exalted with them.  Then I can finally stop doing them because I dislike the smelly ogres really!   Inian and I worked on our Kurenai and Consortium faction today while attempting to get a Heroic BloodFurnace going since it was the Heroic daily.  It would have been perfect too because I could have made progress on my Honor Hold faction but we could never find a stupid tank!  It eventually got too late and we just worked on our faction farming the rest of the evening.  I ended up replishing my arcane dust with all the netherweave we got   I’m definetly on target for having all the Outlands faction( well the ones I can get) exalted before the Sunwell comes out.  That new faction will come with all the nifty new dailies so that one will get finished probably long before WOTLK   Don’t ask me why I work on all these factions except for it is something to shoot for I suppose.

I played a around a little more on the PTR earlier.

I got out all the pets in my bank and this one turned out to be the largest!  He is as big as an adult elephant!

They fixed the bugs I had on the mounts but I did notice a weird clipping thing going on when flying through the swamp.  It just doesn’t look right not sure whats going on.

I did one of the new dailies, to power the portal to the sunwell island.  For some reason this one needs to be powered, by energon cubes from the consortium guys no less.  So you have to go to that place out in blade’s edge no one goes to.  This is me out of phase collecting the cubes while being attacked by buff little mana snakes   The quest yileded a 68 green (arcane wrath gear) and 1 Badjge of Justice.  Neat huh!

So I haven’t had time to get on here and Rant about 2.4 yet.  I’ve only played around a little on the PTRs so far.  The new content looks great, I mean there is ALOT of it.  I’m extremely excited about this part.

There are a few bugs, in the Mac Client, Netherdrakes have huge beams shooting out the head and ass

And Dreadsteeds are wonderful rainbows!   The October Fest Ram also had some beams shooting out of it too.

And if the PTR is any indication your going to have to keep your guard up constantly on the island.  There was soooo much PvPing going on.  There are not many places where the guards are actually protecting you. As usual if you act at all even in defense and you do get near guards you both die

One of the latest builds had a funny bug where creature scaling was messed up.  Murky wasn’t exactly giant, but he was as big as a gnome

So anyways onto my Rant yes 2.4 looks great content wise, but they have been slowly but surely added the class changes in.  I don’t think they wanted everyone to see them all at once.  As far as Priests were concerned they started out with major mana burn nerfs, followed by making Resilience effect Mana burn.  I don’t really care about it but a lot of people did.  But then they messed with my PI making it  a 20% spell haste instead of 20% damage.  They also took away my spell interrupt by making Chastise a 2 second root instead of disorient.   I’ve heard its instant now but I keep forgetting to look when I go in.  Lately I’ve just been messing with specs. Now that they messed up PI  I’m going to go back to a Healing/Damage build instead of a Damage/Healing one.  I’m going to go back to my old trusty 24/37/0 build. This will probably help me anyways as I end up healing the new 5 man

So far they have only nerfed Priests and have yet to give us any buffs.  I hope we see one before the end of testing but I’m not going to hold my breath.  I guess I’ll just look forward to all the new content and not what they are doing to my class.  What makes me mad is they appear to be balancing the entire game around the arena.  Probably for their precious new “E-Sport”…  This makes me very annoyed because that is a tiny part of the game, a very tiny part and a stupid one to balance things on.  I’m afraid of what the game is going to look like if they continue down that path.

Inian and I decided to take care of some farming we had been forgetting to take care of this evening.  I  needed a bunch of Primal Life so I could make some Golden Spell Thread for my new S1 PvP pants and he needed some Primal Mana so I could put the spell damage on his gloves he won in the Kara PUG.

We started with the life and encountered competition for the trees but with both of us running around we were getting more of them.  Of course eventually we started getting some PvP resistance as well.  There was a Ret pally in full PvP gear who completely owned us several times.  I could not believe how evil he was.  He has over 31% crit and 399 resilience!  Anyways we finally got it all and left.

After that to netherstorm to get Inian’s Primal Mana.  Of course for some reason they were the most stingy with it than we have ever seen.  It took us like twice as long to get as the life of course.  We did get some greens and plenty of greys to sell out of the whole thing.

After that I did his enchant, made my golden spell thread and yay we’re done.  I still need to farm the Netherweb to make my last 20 slot bag for the bank.  I went off to do my ogrla Dailies after that.  I’m about 3 days off from max exalted with them finally.  I want to get that out of the way before 2.4.  Sure I don’t want anything from them I was just doing it for completion sake

Inian and I want to finish out the Kurenai and Consortium factions so we have that out of the way before 2.4 as well.  There are so many more interesting things to do in 2.4 that we probably won’t want to spend the time grinding out the last of that   Plus we’ll get more blue gems every month that way.

Speaking of blue gems I finally finished putting at least blue gems in all my healing gear now.  I sold some of the enormous amounts of enchanting supplies I have to cover the cost and bought some blue gems. Many thanks to Kiylie who did all the cuts for me There are a few people from FEST who are in Necessary Evil that still help me out, Kiylie (Desiria) who is kind enough to cut my gems for me because we don’t have an in guild jewelcrafter with anything, and Kinjiro still opens boxes for me.  I don’t have much to offer myself but I send Kiylie oil when she wants it for her Mage alt, and I send Kinjiro rogue related food

I got on today and did my usual round of dailies.  Picked up my usual 10+ super mana/health pots as I was running around from boxes   Inian joined me online slightly later than usual.  I remembered the PvP daily was AV, and there is always a good chance we’d win that one so we queued up for that.  We were using Stinkyqueue so we could go in together, it works good for the most part.  We completed the daily and was doing some checking on stuff when just before he leaves, Inian does it.  He finally leaves his guild!

I had been harassing him during AV that he should join my guild but he thinks he is a guild curse because they fall apart when he joins.  But his current guild stayed together he just didn’t have much to actually do with them   I said something like I’m an officer there is nothing to worry about the guild isn’t going anywhere hehe  So anyway I invited him and he quickly ran away before anyone could say anything about it hehe  We actually have very few active mages so it is a good thing.  Thailos the guild leader knows Inian from all the times i’ve brought him along on stuff and knows he is a good player so I know thats good.

I started off by pursuing some more honor for now my S1 gloves during baby naps.  I’ve got 305 resilience now and am totally loving it. Now Blizzard just needs to make it easier for me to carry all this gear around with me like I do

Got on later by and Inian was trying a Kara PUG.  This was a TRUE Kara PUG as it wasn’t run by a major guild, nor did it have any major guilds involved it let alone well geared people   We didn’t do quite as bad as I expected though.  It was slow, very slow but I was getting rep anyways   We managed to kill 2 bosses, however Moroes was quite an issue for everyone.  When we got to the Maiden lady it was too much for our tank.  No mater how full the tank was when we got repentance, even if I had renew on him and POM bouncing around he was not alive long enough for even a flash heal when we got out of it.  He just wasn’t geared quite well enough.  Then the offtank which was even worse was toasted quickly enough not that he even had agro right off the bat anyways.

Was an interesting experience.  It is obvious that Kara is easy enough to be PUG’d but if you are not geared well enough then it doesn’t matter.  The paladin and group leader eyeluvu (yes that was his name) was a member of the Knights of Nee you know that guild that exists on every server I had around 800 or so more healing than him but he stayed just ahead of me on effective heal meters.  Just goes to show you Pallies are OP!    Of course I’m not speced to heal and could out damage him 100 times over even in my healing gear lol.

I was doing some AV runs, to finish up getting the honor for my S1 Legs and I managed to see something I have never seen on the live server!  Yes it was a lightwell!  Even more amazing, I USED IT!    Yes it was a productive night in AV, and I did manage to get enough honor to pickup my S1 pants yay!
