SwiftHeal
by Laneer on Mar.31, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
After doing the dailies today I was looking at the AH. I know I know big mistake when you have 4k gold in your pocket. I like to look for cheap patterns and whatever. I always see the Swiftheal pattern up and thought I’d look at Shoulders. You see I’m intending to break my Primal Mooncloth set bonus soon. I really been working on getting a bit more rounded instead of just the huge healing numbers with no stamina and such. I’m also looking to improve my spirit over mana/5 with the recent changes.
I’ve been looking at 2 possible robes, the Robes of Heavenly Purpose that drop from ZA, and the Gown of Spiritual Wonder which is a 2.4 Heroic Badge offering. So I started looking at the Swiftheal Mantle as a possible alternative to the Primal Mooncloth Shoulders. In the end there are not a lot of options for shoulders in general for a Priest, and a non raiding Priest has even less options. Not counting the loss of the set bonus I loose 4 healing on the Swiftheal Mantle, but gain 210 health and the 1.71% of spell haste. With my recently aquired Brooch of Nature’s Mercy it actually effects Flash Heal! lol Yes I’m not a fan of Spell Haste.

Anyways that said I went ahead and made me a swiftheal mantle as it appeared to be my best option for the moment. The parts were not that expensive I suppose if you think about it. The mats are really easy actually. I had to buy 2 Hearts of Darkness, they come from Black Temple and were 250g each. Then I had to buy the pattern which also comes from the Black Temple and that was 225g. So for 725g I got some decent shoulders.

They don’t look half bad either. Perhaps my Figureprint would work out better with them!
Still now makes me debate as I went ahead and made them I’m breaking my set, so do I not get my Gavel of Naaru Blessings and get the Gown of Spiritual Wonder, or do I wait it out till I build up the 100 badges again. There is a very tempting staff that drops from the last boss of Heroic MgT Rod of the Blazing Light. Must fight the urge to use a staff again! Blizzard apparently wants us Priests to do that though
Fessters DreadSteed
by Laneer on Mar.30, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
Well I managed to fit in my dailies before my usual play time so that I could try to go to Gruuls with the guild but ended up not going.

Funny enough I was flying over to convert some cloth and arcane dust to prismatic shards when someone turned in that one egg quest lol
I spent my time though on Fesster working on his Epic mount quest. As I don’t believe I’ve mentioned yet I got Fesster to 60 finally, Poor guy had been waiting years for that. I gathered all the mats required from the AH and then while working on mining managed to get all my Owlbear blood. So I started out on all the other parts. Inian went down with me into Jadenar where I ended up getting the stardust. Then finally we went into Scholo and let the Imp make me the scroll.

So I am not sitting one DM run away from my epic ground mount! This will greatly enhance Fessters ability to skill up mining and get let me get my engineering up. You see I bought both injector plans for him so I can save inventory space on Laneer, and so Inian can too! Hopefully I can find a healer than want to go along with us to DM for the quest
Ack! No ScreenShots!

Ok going to try to get back into the swing again here. I’ve been neglecting the site lately! I had the Flu two weeks ago and was out for the count for a week. I did play a little during the day, I hope to back update on some of the stuff that happened. Then the next week I was recovering still and catching up and work and didn’t play a lot cause I was tired.
So here we are 5 days into 2.4. I’ve been diligently doing my part on our server and Deathwing is doing pretty good. We were about 25% done with Phase 2 when I finished my dailies this afternoon. I got them done early because I thought I might sneak on in time for Kara. Of course I didn’t quite make it.
So I went on Fesster and worked on his mining/engineer and his Dread Steed. Eventually they needed me and I joined up just before curator. Surprisingly enough I’ve never took any screenshots all day long
Besides getting badly needed badges I am still 13 short of my mace
I also picked up FINALLY an upgrade for my Band of Unanswered Prayers, I got Illhoofs Mender’s Heart-Ring! Quite amazing, healing drops on a guild run! It was an unusual Kara run because when I joined we got rid of the second tank and did the rest of the instance DPS heavy. Things went down so fast it was hilarious. Inian was there for the whole run and got some good loots too! (GRATS!) Several things I would have loved to roll on but didn’t
Anyways I won’t neglect the site anymore
I updated my mods section a little with some changes. Still need to put in the details on everything though. Mods are still a bit screwy since 2.4 came out due to some major changes like the combat log. I really miss Parrot!
My Cake Finally!
by Laneer on Mar.16, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
After doing the cooking daily ever since it existed every day I was online I finally got the last blue recipe, the delicious chocolate cake.
Not that I’m going to stop doing the daily now I love cooking up all that food. It was just one of the only cooking recipes I didn’t have. The one I’ll probably never be able to get is though silly epic Chops that are from the Broodlord’s head chain quest. At least till maybe I can convince a few people to go with me to BWL and slay him for fun so i can get his head and continue that quest, if you can that is? I don’t have the quest anymore I should go visit that guy and see if I can still pick it up. I remember when we were doing AQ40 FEST used to farm stuff to make those chops so the tanks could have as much HP as possible hehe
After being up all night sick I don’t have energy for much else.
Gladiator Gloves

I noticed I was pretty close in honor to my Gladiator Gloves and even though I was exahusted I managed to pound out the last 3k of honor I needed pretty quick. This was thanks to it being AV weekend, and today’s PvP daily was AV conviently. I was looking at stuff and I think I’ll replace my pvp neck next. It has no stats on it besides some resilience and spell damage. There is a real nice one that will give me tons of stam, some int and lots of healing.
Hilarious Article
by Laneer on Mar.14, 2008, under Blizzard
You know how the media is always trying to paint us MMO players as nut cases without any lives? Well I happened to run into this link on Digg that was quite hilarious. The facts in the article are so wrong it is an amusing read.
Here are some of the hilarious highlights from the article!
World Of Warcraft, known as WOW, in which more than 50 million people take on the characters of wizards or warriors and join a struggle between humans and orcs in the kingdom of Azeroth.
So Blizzard LOVES to talk about there numbers, and they couldn’t even accurately report the number of people who play WoW?
Having worked his way up to be head of a “guild”, Arklore now leads massive 40-person “raids”, battles which the whole group take part in simultaneously.
This one was hilarious, “worked his way up” to be a guild leader lol. Then talking about 40 person raids? This is a recent article!
He has three characters a druid, a knight and an elf, all powered up to the fabled “level 70″ status, which can take over 30 full days of play, or 720 hours.
I thought this was funny too, the person had a druid, a night, and an elf? lol They must not have listened to the person who was speaking and told them they had a Druid Night Elf
And 30 days to get 70? I mean I’m supper slow and didn’t even take a quarter of that!
World Of Warcraft can be a better world, because you don’t get people threatening each other and you can resurrect yourself when you die.
This last one is a quote from one of the people he interviewing as to why he likes WoW over real life. People don’t get threated? Really? That is hilarious, he must not play on a PvP server where it is a dog eat dog world
This is all about some Film Festival movie called Second Skin. I’d like to see it just to see how well/bad they portrayed us. I think the main fault of the article is insisting that you are being anti-social by playing an MMO… This doesn’t make any sense to me as I can be interacting with more people in WoW at times than I would in real life. I have some good friends in WoW, and some of my good local friends play with me. I see no problem with playing an MMO in moderation. Of course if you are skipping work, meals, Pee breaks to play then perhaps you have a problem. Other than that it is just a hobby, something for me that lets me relax and enjoy myself. If you give it any thought it is better than a lot of things I could be doing. It is inexpensive, keeps me at home yet still gives me the release I need after an annoying day at work!
Dragonblight Preview
by Laneer on Mar.14, 2008, under WoW
Blizzard put up the latest preview of WOTLK giving us a look into Dragonblight. From the flybys the zone not only looks huge and interesting but very awesome
At least they are starting to get more information out, we also recently had the Grizzly Hills preview as well. Perhaps we’ll get more class related information after they have finished previewing all the zones. I more than ever believe this is a 2009 release for this expansion! It is shaping up nicely to be worth the wait.
First Zul’Aman Run
by Laneer on Mar.11, 2008, under Gameplay
Well I finally made it into a Zul”Aman run and my was it painful. It was a very pretty zone that reminded me a lot of Zul’Gurub. I can’t say I enjoyed myself all that much though.

Started off at that big door Inian and I found. It was interesting at how long you have to bang on that gong before the door opens. I guess it is for dramatic effect. What I didn’t know is after the door is open you have a 15 minute timer to get to the first boss to save some souls. If you do you are rewarded, as I understand this is where the Bear mount comes in. Which is most cool looking (not that I don’t love my silver talbuk!)
![]()
The trash in the front was relatively easy. Though I was already uneasy about things when they were talking about using MY fear as CC. My fear is fairly useless except in PvP and barely useful in that.
![]()
So here we are at the first boss staring at the trash pack in front of him. We got there with plenty of time on the timer to kill him, however the group makeup did not include any CC. So they thought we would some how magically make it work. So we wiped to this pack, I have no idea how many times. I Think I had 50% durability by the time we started the boss. We actually spent like 30 minutes finding a mage to bring here just to sheep one of the guys so we could defeat the trash then the mage left. Then we wiped at least once, maybe twice on the actual boss. The boss was relatively easy, just a tank and spank but some how we managed. Of course he dropped Melee gear because I was here
It some was some hunter gear that Thya got. This guy drops a neat healing robe.
![]()
On to the eagle boss. To get to him you have to run a gauntlet like thing ala suppression roomin BWL, or the bug tunnel in AQ40. Stuff keeps respawning until you get to this little mini boss at the top of the hill and kill him. We didn’t have any problems with doing this either.
![]()
The eagle boss was a neat fight. He did a variety of things such as toss people way high up (hurray for levitate), throws a nature damage debuff on you and does this storm attack where everyone has to hug the boss or you all die. Well guess what happened on the first try?
You guessed it one person didn’t listen and we all died. The boss also has some bird adds that fly over and hover around and divebomb random people. They got me a few times, not a huge amount of damage but we had a couple people picking them off. We actually quit after a few wipes to this boss because you only have so much time to defeat him. The zone eventually started to respawn and that was it.
I’m not sure how I compare in +Healing to Thailos and Naiyaa I think I’m pretty close. I was looking at the healing meters which Thailos loves to post which are completely silly. Basically I just kept renew on the tanks, kept up the dps, threw POM around constantly and on the bosses tossed GHeals on the tanks. No matter how I’m geared, I’m not going to beat a Paladin spamming heals, because to be honest there wasn’t any healing to do most of the time. I could try spamming flash heals to see if I could beat them to the punch but that would be silly and a waste of mana. Priests were not built for spam healing anyways.
I think my point is my healing was just as valuable, any healing is really. Being at the top of a meter healing doesn’t really mean anything because if I stopped healing we would loose. It’s funny usually people don’t beat Thailos’s pally heal spam but he has a disadvantage against a restro druid in Tree form. The Naiyaa basically was getting all the healing in first by keeping all the HOTS on them, so all Thailos was doing is over healing even more than usual. I was doing most of my healing with Renew as well. Besides POM doesn’t even count as my healing and I like using that a lot too because it is such an efficient spell. I always shoot for the least over healing, I want to make the best use of my mana as possible.
Heroic Daily
by Laneer on Mar.09, 2008, under Gameplay
I didn’t play much last week because I was in training all week for work and by the time I got home and all I never had the energy to do anything. Didn’t do too much playing this weekend either. I have started playing my oldest alt, Fesster the gnome warlock again. Been trying to get his mining and engineering up so he can make Inian and I injectors to save inventory space
![]()
Todays Heroic Daily seemed doable, it was SV so while we went to farm Ogres while we waited for a tank. It was kind of funny because we merged with another group and just needed the tank. The finally find one and we go with plenty of time for this instance. The leader was a Boomkin who was bragging about his over 1k spell damage. I told Inian I was going to laugh if you still beat him on the damage meters and I wasn’t surprised when he did the entire instance. Inian managed to beat the epically equipped rogue too.
One issue was I thought this would be fast. I completely forgot that the first boss is a royal pain in the ass. First we wiped 3 times getting to her because they wouldn’t listen to me about pulling the water elementals. Then we wiped 3 times to her as well. Finaly got her down and finished the rest of the instance really fast. We did wipe on the last boss once because we didn’t get the first take down. On non heroic I can heal through 1 or 2 missed tanks but I could not on heroic mode
It was kind of fun with Boomkin aura I was throwing around 7k Gheal crits all over the place. Plus it was another 5 badges towards my first 150 goal
HH Rep
by Laneer on Mar.03, 2008, under Farming, Gameplay
I started doing that HH tower capturing quest in Hellfire for the 150 HH rep and the tokens. I had 15 tokens and was looking for a SH or Heroic Ramparts/BF. Someone was trying to get me to do Mech when they changed and said they’d do BF.
![]()
It turned out to be fairly painful but we succeeded. My tokens got some what wasted due to lame AFKs and wipes but I did managed to get good use out of at least half of each one which allowed me to get 3k rep in this run. I am now sitting at just about 3k rep till exalted. Yay! The shaman in this group was a nut, he caused us tons of trouble because he tried to run all the way back to the enterance. He also kept complaining about his repair bill because he couldn’t afford to repair. I’m very confused by these people I mean back in the day I was one of those kinds of poor people but now? With dailies? Come on people one daily will pay for repairs of even epic gear.
