Injectors Finally
by Laneer on Apr.08, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
So the money Laneer invested into the Mana and Healing Injector patterns for Fesster have finally paid off. Through some purchased fel iron I was able to get my skills up to learn health injectors. From there I was able to make enough health injectors to get to mana injectors. In the middle of that I got the skills to make use of a pattern I won on one run I gave to Fesster. It got him some nifty goggles, the Power Amplification Goggles. When I get 62, which I’m almost at 61 I can upgrade them to the Destruction Holo-gogs which would be Fessters first epic
Plus they are really neat
I have been slacking the past couple of days on my dailies with Laneer. I just haven’t had the energy to pursue them. What little bit I’ve played for the past few days I’ve played with Fesster. Incidentally my new spec on Fesster is working out pretty well. Anyways it is something I feel comfortable playing anyways. I’m sure its not the best spec, in fact Destruction is supposedly only good for high end raiding but I still enjoy it more than the other two.
Baaaad Spec
by Laneer on Apr.07, 2008, under Gameplay
Ya I’m totally not feeling the synergy from Fessters new spec. I played a bit this morning doing some quests and I totally fumbled all over the place and was not doing well. I think I’m going to go back to just destruction tanking. I’ve been trying to get the hang of fear but I think I like the way I used to play. Just blow the hell out of the mob, they can come hit me but they aren’t going to live long enough to do much damage
That and hitting me just procs backlash and they die faster
I thought I’d try a spec with Soul Leech. Kakuma was welling me that it actually isn’t bad once you get spell damage and are throwing around big numbers
That probably has some good synergy with just tanking the mob anyways.
I wasn’t feeling the Shadowburn though and am thinking I might skip on that one. I am still debating on Improved Shadowbolt. I did some calculations and Cataclysm doesn’t really save me much mana. It saves between 8-19 mana depending on what I cast though I suppose on a bunch of casts that can add up. The main thing though is I don’t spam shadow bolt. I like the fire spells, and though I’ve read about how much more awesome shadow bolt is with that talent I don’t use it that often, and I was looking forward to incinerate to actually use instead. I’ll mill that over a bit more and decide when I respect tonight again. Hopefully it will be the last time I do it for a while. This is what I’m thinking of though.
Oh I’m also thinking of trying out aftermath again. I remember using it when Fesster was growing up and I liked it cause I could often kill things before they even reached me. I was thinking of it ala frostbite kind of thing
Its not a very good group talent though but maybe while I’m leveling it will be good. We’ll see

Can Finally Move On

I had been avoiding going back to outlands because I wanted to have the skill to mine fel iron as I was questing so I didn’t have to farm it later. Plus I bought both injector plans with the purpose of getting Fessters engineering up enough to supply Inian and I with 20 charge potions
So to get back at it I bought 2 more stacks of Thorium Ore on the AH in the hopes I could get close enough to rich thorium. It worked like a charm, on the last piece of ore smelted I got 290!
I then went over to Burning Steppes and hit up a few more Thorium/Rich Thorium nodes and got 295 which with the enchant I have on my current gloves is enough to get me the ability to mine Fel Iron. I used all the Thorium to get my engineering up even a bit more. Not too much further from the Health Pot Injector anyways
Then I headed out to outlands via the portal and even picked up a few more skillups on the way. So I can now start leveling up Fesster again. Before I left IF I probably did something silly. I speced out of the leveling build. I know its probably better, but I really wasn’t into it, I had always been destruction and I liked it
I will admit I never had to worry about mana. So I went with something different, maybe its completely wrong but I want to try it for a while. I want to get use to playing again anyways I am not a very good warlock at this point
I went with this build. I got Shadowburn on Kakuma’s recomendation, and got improved drain soul to help with the mana situation and encourage me to get shards to use with Shadowburn
I’m also trying out improved shadow bolt because I have read its so awesome and will have to get in the habbit of using it
My final build goal is this. Specializing in Destruction with the points in afflction to help with mana, and demonology to improve pizpep my favorite little imp who is not to be underestimated
So yes you can call me silly now oh well. I’m a bad warlock why shouldn’t I have a crazy spec to go with it!
Watch out after I get some practice though I haven’t played Fesster in years, I have some learning to do!
150 Complete!
by Laneer on Apr.05, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
I did my dailies today and was going to play with Fesster when Thailos gets on and wanted to try to get the failed Kara2 started again. They needed healers so Thailos could tank and since Inian was going I thought I might as well go and get some badges and help out.
It was a little late and I wasn’t sure how long I would last but we didn’t do half bad. Thailos made a few bad pulls that wiped us in the begining and his odd insistance that I have Blessing of Wisdom caused me some troubles. I died ALOT, I mean way way more than I would normally. Partially this is because there were only 2 healers, and i was doing more of it so when agro was lost I got it. And well that kept happening and I managed to destroy almost all my gear to 0 plus a little more.
See my thing is the least mobs know about me the better. Generally I like Salvation during normal pulls and Kings during bosses. When Thailos gave me Wisdom I said Salvation or Kings please and he said “what am I dps?” Salvation is just as important for a healer, the same reasons DPS want it to stay off the radar. And well with the new regeneration model and the way I play I like kings, out of combat regen is increased by over 50/mana 5 over what Wisdom gives.
We had a few clutch wins like this on where nearly everyone died at the end.
By the time we decided to call it a night I had got 9 badges which put me at my 150 I had been shooting for. Though now I’m strongly thinking I want to get the Robe and Pants instead first which means I need 50 more badges
Before logging I took the 60 arcane dust and tons of netherweave bolts I had on me to make 3 Arcanoweave Bracers to disenchant into shards. This is my lastest pass time to do with the stuff we get from the dailies. Inian has been piling the stuff on me recently. I think I have like 47 Primsmatic shards now.
Fessters DreadSteed Received!
by Laneer on Apr.04, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
Did my dailies as usual today, even got my 6th badge from dailies! I didn’t end up doing them yesterday. I was so tired I never made it back on. Just watched some tv and went to bed. I was about to do that again when I saw someone shouting for DM west, and thought I’d go with Fesster. Then I find out it was a warlock trying to do the quest.
So we got a pally tank, and a hunter but couldn’t find a healer. So I had read on wowwiki that you can summon a warlock to turn in the quest after your done with the ritual so I decided even though I kinda wanted to do with Fesster I’d just grab Laneer. I was going to have to open the door for us anyways. Its even easier now anyways that you can summon directly into the instance.
It was very nostalgic for me running over to DM. I remember many a times running over this log to DM. All the people in my group were all new to the game and had never even done DM. It was hard enough to get people to do it back in the day, now its near impossible.
So just as we were about to start the pally leaves. So we go with just the 3 of us shouting for more. So we do the first few pulls when a 56 hunter joins us. Then we get when we were towards the end we ended up getting a 70 warlock who still needed the ritual himself! I was glad because there were so many mobs that come at you durning the ritual It would have been very difficult without him. He was so excited he was handing out gold to everyone. I didn’t take it 1 becuase I needed the quest too, and too I have plenty
The ritual went pretty well. I had done it several times before but that was back in the day and I couldn’t quite remmeber how long it was goign to go on. I was getting worried they weren’t doing something right just when the dreadsteed came.
We defeated him and the other silly guy easily and it was all sorts of fun. I left the group and they summoned Fesster and I got to turn in the quest too and get mine. So it all worked out great in the end just like wowwiki said
Being able to summon into an instance is awesome.
So i finally have my epic ground mount to go with my level 60!
This will help me to finish up my mining and engineering much faster! Speaking of which I managed to also pull off getting high enough skill to mine thorium finally. I could smelt Trusilver, and as luck would have it there was a bunch on the AH, at not TOO outragous prices, and I used the remainder of fessters money to buy some and get smelting skillups
I managed Engineering 280 as well so I’m not too much farther from getting into the 300+ stuff
Fishing For Shrimp

I got on real quick while my son was napping to do a daily or two. I ended up doing the fishing daily which was a new one for me. Fishing for shrimp! It’s kind of disturbing, you catch fish then you pull the shrimp out of them. This crazy quest guy intends to cook at eat the shrimp too! Ewwwww is all I have to say
Portal Open

Well the portal is open and we have a new daily to do now! I got lucky again on the first daily I did, the Nagrand one and got a Badge. This will make the 5th one I got since 2.4 came out. It seems they are not quite as common as they were on the test server. Still getting a badge now and then is a nice surprise.

After finishing today’s dailies we ended up being 65% done with Phase 2. We are not as awesome as the big PvE servers but we are still crusing along quite nicely!

After rapping up I was convering some more of my cloth and arcane dust to shards when I got hit with the puke quest again! There must be a lot of new alts around or something
Daily Run
by Laneer on Apr.01, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing
Did my usual daily run today, never saw Inian so it was solo. Got offered to join the ZA run a little late but I’ve been extremely tired all day and didn’t think I’d be a good healer tonight. Earned a good sum though, I got almost a third of the money I spent yesterday back
I noticed when I turned in we were 96% finished with the portal so that will probably be done tomorrow and that we are 52% done through phase 2. So it should take Deathwing 2 weeks to open up the badge vendor, yay for high population servers!
I still don’t know what I’ll be doing with my badges. I’ve been debating now about getting the Gown of Spiritual Wonder instead of my mace. While I will see very little if any net heal increase, it has tons of Stamina, Int and Spirit. I’m thinking the Teardrop Crimson Spinel which comes from completing the quest “Hard to Kill” will be a good gem for that red slot
The other option is my Adorned Supernal Legwraps which I will also eventually get that will net me healing, and some increased stats. Its more a question of which comes first because I get badges ever so slowly it will be a while before I get something else.
