Shadow Moon Just About Done

by on Jul.10, 2008, under Questing

Finished Gorfiends Armor

I had to come home early to have some work done at the house.  I got up really early so I was tired and debated sleeping but ended up getting on Mooku instead.  I finished up the last of my non group quests in the instance and managed to get a group to do gorfiends armor.  That is the quest where you fight the giant ghost dragon.  It took forever but was pretty easy, I tanked and we had a restro druid healing.  We also had a rogue with us who realized at the end of the fight he wasn’t standing close enough to hit the dragon :P

So it is going to be time to move onto Netherstorm here pretty quick.  I have a few things I want to finish up in Shadowmoon.  I want to start getting into some SV groups as well so I can get my cenarion faction up.  It is like the only faction I’d really like to grind on Mooku because I want that awesome tanking weapon :)

WOTLK Alpha Talents

by on Jul.10, 2008, under WoW

I can’t wait for them to hurry up and invite me into WOTLK beta so I can test out the new Priest talents. Wowhead recently put up all the known new talents into their calculator (which is the best) and I put together this build.  This is definetly what I would like to try first.  I’d miss Divine spirit, but there are so many interesting things in the Holy tree :)

Like they finally made Holy Concentration worth having with Improved Holy Concentration.  Not only do you get to increase the chance of it by another 10%, you also get full mana regeneration for 10 seconds after it.  This will be a nice mana saver when you to toss around a bunch of flash/binding heals when things go badly, Gheals in boss encounters.

Serendipity will be most useful when in Raids with a another healer so you don’t waste mana.  Even with the 10 second cool down on the effect it will be nice.  If your heal spell doesn’t do at least 50% of what it was supose to then you get the mana back :)

Test of Faith is another talent that goes with the whole Priest crunch time image.  You get an extra 15% healing, and 10% chance to create on targets who are at or below 50% health.

Divine Providence is great talent that lets you get another 10% healing on all the AOE healing spells.  That is great for me who is a fan of Prayer of Healing which hasn’t got much love in recent years.  Also my most favorite spell Prayer of Mending is in their too!  The only one they left out of this talent is Holy Nova.  I know it also has a damage component but it should be in there too.

The big honcho, the 51 point holy talent isn’t that exciting to me but I want to see it in action.  I don’t know how much of your +healing it gets or anything but the description as it is doesn’t make me go WOW or anything.  It is a very temporary pet that heals for you.  It is basically though just another HOT, heals for 642 every 2 seconds and last 10 seconds.  It costs 6% of base mana for that healing.  It has one other trick, if the target is to die, it won’t, and the guardian will die.  I am trying to picture how that would work in my head.  I guess if your tank is going to take a killing blow in that whole 10 seconds the guardian is up, he won’t and maybe hopefully your heal follows right after?

Anyways I’m sure nothing is set in stone yet and I want to see the guardian in action!
