Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

Well the posted a Preview of some class changes for 3.1 today.  Inien emailed me about them didn’t notice myself.  They did the Priest, Rogue and Shaman notes.

• Divine Spirit – this spell is now a core ability available to all priests.

This has been requested forever, I dunno what made them finally decide to do it. My question here is does Imp DS talent still exist?

• Discipline has access to a new talent, Power Word: Barrier. (Think of it as Power Word: Shield for your whole group).

This has been suggested a lot.  I hope it looks cool   It sounds nifty too for when a lot of AOE damage is going on it gives us something useful to combat it.  Will be interesting to see exactly how much the shield is for and if it procs weakened soul.

• Several area of effect (AOE) heal spells have been improved: Prayer of Healing can be cast on any groups in your raid party. Holy Nova’s mana cost has been reduced. Circle of Healing now heals for more.

The change to PoH has been suggested a lot as well.  This would be neat and they are not breaking it for 5 mans.  I approve of this change.  Lowering the cost of Holy Nova makes it even more usable and is exciting as well.

• Shadow priest PvP survivability has been improved: Shadow Form now reduces magic as well as physical damage. Dispersion now removes snares.
• Penance – this spell can now be targeted on the priest.

People whine about this constantly.  I hope in making this work, they didn’t break the cool bolt nature of the spell.  I never cared myself but for PvP apparently they wanted it.

• Serendipity – this talent now reduces the cast time of Greater Heal and Prayer of Healing when Binding Heal or Flash Heal are cast.

Not Holy but this sounds pretty awesome, especially to an already useful talent.

• We are also working to give Holy additional PvP utility.

Plenty of vagueness though in the info.  They mentioned they were giving the Fiend more survivability but didn’t think it was worth mentioning here.  I’m pretty excited to see how the group shield thing plays out though!
