Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

Mana Regeneration

by Laneer on Feb.09, 2009, under Editorial

I haven’t talked about this here yet, but as posted last week on the forums they are messing with Mana regeneration again.  They have decided they gave us too much and we are not going out of mana.  This change will effect all caster classes but I think it effects Priests the most, followed by probably Druids.  I think Priests probably make the biggest use of Spirit regen.

Given that I’m Disc and almost always in the FSR I don’t think it will effect me much when I’m healing.  It will effect me when I’m out in the world questing though.  Right now I don’t have to spend much time drinking.  Usually I can regen the mana I need when I’m moving between targets or quest objectives.  I believe this is going to make my solo play much slower and more annoying but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.  So I propose the following poll for you all, what do you think the changes will mean to you and the game.

What do you think of the proposed mana regen changes?

You forgot to give a neutral option. I personally feel that mana really was getting almost infinite these days, it could probably make the game more interesting if you had to be more strategic about how you spend it, timing shadowfiends/pots and hymn. I think it won’t ruin the game, if anything it’s going to make it more interesting. Anyhow, we’ll adapt :)

Added an extra option, as you were right I didn’t provide that :P I can definitely see Blizzards point of view on the subject. I don’t even think it will effect my healing that much as I already had to be strategic about my mana just because of the way Disc is played I think. I was already running out of mana, probably not as much as Blizzard wanted though. I’m most worried about my solo play to be honest. Guess I can always bug a guild mage for water when I’m questing :P

Yes, I definitley agree here. They are balancing it too much on raid situations, where (as they’ve stated) Replenishment is a requirement. It isn’t there at questing, so in my opinion, as many other have stated on various boards, quite good solution would be to just remove Replenishment and let spirit be. That way raiders wouldn’t have endless mana and soloers wouldn’t have loads of downtime.
