Individuality

A forum post in the healing forums really got me thinking about my one true complaint about WoW. This is what I shared in the post that I also thought I’d share here.
WoW has NEVER had enough individuality in it for me in compared to every other MMO. It is very hard to differentiate yourself from another player in WoW. In fact someone can be so close to you, your skill at playing is about the only thing you can do to tell you apart, and well that is hard to see.
Over the years what little individuality has gone away. With Class Homogenization and Dual Specs it is going to be the worse it has ever been. What is more distressing to me is that I see zero signs of this changing. None of the Ideas Blizzard has put forth has ever made me go wow I will finally be able to be something different than that Dwarf Disc Priest over there.
I would love to see something like the AA system in EQ1 implemented. Something with options where different people will go different ways. Meaningful specialization that is not undone with a few gold or a push of a button. Something that lets someone alter what they can do and who they are. The sad thing I will NEVER see this in WoW. The dedication to the ridiculous E-Sport would not allow such a change as it would be impossible to balance it.
Sadly I will have to continue to enjoy WoW for what it is until an MMO is created that satisfies the things WoW will never be able to.
