Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

After the day I had there was just no energy left over for WoW.  I got on but just couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted to do with my low energy levels.  Then I see Inien (grats btw) get his sewer rat!  He was just doing the fishing daily and got it by pure luck.  I had been hoping that would happen to me too but for some reason I have a feeling the game is going to make me work for it   I’m closing in on the 100 pet mark and that Rat would help out on that

So out of pure jealousy I fished for a little over a half an our in the sewer before bed.  I didn’t have the energy for anything else anyways.  Fishing is pretty relaxing for the most part (not RL fishing though).  Of course all that fishing did not yield me a rat, just a lot of bones, carp and vials.    Hopefully this isn’t like Mr Pinchy whom I never actually caught during BC and only got afterward even though the amount I used to fish during BC was at least 5 to 10 times more

What I should have done is updated my addons.  I noticed I’m getting pretty far behind in versions.  I still do mine by hands now, I haven’t wanted to trust any of the new applications.  I really miss wowace, I hate that they got merged into curse   I plan to update my UI section as I do this update because I know it is out of date.  I’ll try and do that tonight

My wife was out of town this weekend so my son absorbed all my time this weekend.  I snuck on a few times while he was napping though.  I have started work on my next great achievement, Loremaster.  This is one I wanted to complete before BC but never got through it before wrath ended up coming out.  I think this time I will have time to complete it though, I’m getting very close!  I started off the latest round of old world quests though by finally going to get my Sprite Darter pet.  I knew this pet quest chain was out there but had never taken the time to add him to my family.  Now this colorful little guy joins my growing army of pets

Just before my son woke up I joined Inien in a Heroic Violet Hold group.  It was the daily heroic and I thought it would be quick enough.  Just as I was getting there my son wakes up.  Usually he is groggy and doesn’t want to do much after he wakes up for a little bit so rather than disappoint I try to continue.  Well he had me running out after every boss to do something for him, but we managed to complete the instance.  We had a very strange Pally tank that made things difficult.  I almost wonder if he was being played by not the original owner.  He was extremely well geared, he had like 42k HP.  However the two main DPS Inien, and another Arcane Mage, who Inien pointed out have 40% less threat on arcane kept pulling aggro!  This happened through out the run which seemed awfully strange.

I got back on for a little bit just before bed after my wife got home.  I did a few more quests in Aerie peak I had, including the robot chicken one I picked up.  This is another quested pet I’m missing!  I need to do the Feralas chicken as well I believe.  While I happened to be passing through Ironforge I checked the pets and found the Tauren baby plainstrider was up for 1500g.  There was only one and from that guy I mentioned a few days ago put up like 6.  He must have lowered the prices to sell them.  I went ahead and bought it as it was my last Horde pet I needed   Of course I had not replenished gold supplies from the last purchase so I’m as low as I’ve been in a long time at just under 3K in reserves.  I still have plenty of time to rebuild capital before Cataclysm gets here though.  Though there are still a few little raptor pets I need to buy >:)

In some wowpriests.info news you may have noticed my site is running faster now.  I’ve actually switched from using wordpress stats to google analytics. At first I thought it was my imagination, but it really is faster.  Plus analytics is really neat, I wish I had done it sooner!

I got on a bit later after getting all those nifty Achievements, and did some Argent Tournament Dailies.  My gold supplies haven’t been increasing lately, and there is still a pet to be had   While I was out on the island doing some quests I notice they added a new quest with some new object in the cave where the oracle guy is summoned.  It looks like it is informing us about some sort of attack by these guys so this may have something to do with 3.3.  Interesting anyways, I still haven’t done the other quest they added to Dalaran to begin the lore for Night Elf Mages in Cataclysm.

Shortly after finishing my dailies I joined up with the Texas Mercenaries for my Friday raiding fun.  We did really good this week in ToC10 completing the entire instance again.  I picked up the Binding Light trinket while I was in there.  I didn’t remember seeing that one when I was looking at the drops.  I rolled on it because it didn’t seem like anyone wanted it, the other Priest that came with us did roll too.  I wish I had let him have it because I miss read the tool tip, it wasn’t much different than the energy siphon I was using, some argue it is worse even   A nifty belt dropped off the last guy too, and I felt compelled not to roll to because I had one won the trinket, though the belt wasn’t a huge upgrade either.  I’m still debating on getting the Triumph ring or waiting to get the helmet, decisions!

Yes!! I can finally relax I have now finished Brewfest and there by completing my long strange trip   The reward being of course this very sweet, 310% speed Violet Proto-Drake! I tested him out a bit and it is very nice to have the speed back.

On another note you may have seen my twitter post.  I noticed wowpets mentioned that they sent out the Grunty codes.  I was like hey I didn’t get one and then went through my spam folder and it had got marked as spam!!!  Eeek I can’t believe he was nearly lost.  Anyways I have him now and he is very cool

If I do nothing else today I have made HUGE accomplishments!  I wish everyone else the best of luck who is working on this achievement.

I got on and did my Brewfest dailies, completely exhausted again (yay for 12h days + family outing + trash day). After completed the defend Brewfest, Brew barking, and Beer runs I was a mere 4 short of doing the rest of the achievements.  Inien however managed to have enough (grats!) and got his done.  Unfortunately though he missed a few achievements during the year that prevented him from getting his Violet Proto-Drake at this point

Tomorrow will be the day though, I should be flying on a 315% mount! Woot!  I had looked him up on wowhead yesterday, he is actualy pretty cool looking.  I won’t mind I guess him being probably the only flying mount I’ll ever use again LOL  It is kind of nifty too because proto-drakes are not terribly common because the only way you can get one is by luck or hardcore raider   Also to have a 315% mount is pretty uncommon too, so this will be neat.  Anyone who says that this was catering to casuals needs to be smacked too because being dedicated enough to get in and do all these achievements in some times a very short period of time was not easy, and it takes a year   I’m not sure people feel that way anymore though because I don’t see it so much now, but you used to see that a lot when they first did that achievement.

Before bed I went and did some argent dailies so I could get a new pet.  I happened to get that one daily that was always broken for me before.  Well they fixed it finally in the last patch I guess   Well sort of I should say.  I managed to actually summon the guy, but in the middle of fighting him and phased out and was still hitting me but I couldn’t see him.  I kept running around in the area and then some how got phased back in and was able to fight and kill him for the first time, yay!

After I completed enough dailies I grabbed my NE pet   He is such a cute little tree.  His idle animation is sleeping but for some reason in this screenshot I caught him with out the Z’s over his head.  So instead of sleeping he just looks sad.  Don’t worry he is just super tired like me!  So now the only Argent Tournament pets I need to get is the Dreanei and Tauren.  I saw someone put like 7 of the Tauren pets on the AH for 1800, was going to wait and see if he lowers the price at all.  The one guy who keeps trying to sell the one for 2k is either successful every 2 days or is not selling it.  I know I am not paying that much for one so I have been waiting for a slightly lower price.  I have been paying 1500 gold for the horde ones.

Well tomorrow is another day, hoping for some raiding with the Texas Mercenaries again.  This time I plan to not pass out hopefully!

I got on today with pretty much just the energy for the brewfest quests then it was going to be off to bed with me.   It drives me crazy because I keep trying to get more out of my ram runs but can’t do it.  Something always manages to go wrong, and if you loose even a little time that throws off how long you can keep delivering.  Today I thought I’d be clever and I tried to do a shorter route I saw someone doing.  Of course they must have been easier on the whip because I exhausted my ram just before reaching the apples.  This was early on in the run too so it broke my spirit   I did battle on still and got another 20.  I’m sitting exactly 51 tokens away from the 350 I need for all the clothes for that achievement.  Then hopefully as I’ve heard I can sell them back and get the brew of the month club then I’m done!

I did decide to run the brewfest boss to see if maybe I could get a mount.  No mount but I do own both the dark and light bartender trinkets now Just before heading to bed I went over to do the fishing daily.  I figure one of these days I’m going to get lucky and get the last croc.  I really need to get back to a round or two of Argent Tournament dailies because I think I’m only like 9 seals from getting a new pet there too.  I was going to go for the Night Elf one next I think.

I need to do Onyxia again this week too.  I’d like to try 25 man as well, assuming the PUGS are capable yet.

I had such a crazy day at work I had completely forgotten that today was patch day!  Good ol’ patch 3.2.2 went live today!  A small patch but with a few great changes put in place, mainly Onyxia’s Return!  Wowhead has a great run down of the patch on their website. Of course like many patch days this one wasn’t super silky smooth.  The database seemed to be having issues, loot lag was pretty bad, at least on Doomhammer.

When I got on I did my Brewfest stuff ( I should finish my achievements on Sunday! ) then I got a tell from Inien he got in an Onyxia Raid.  I thought Oh ya so I joined LFG and got in a PUG.  Shortly after that Inien asked if I wanted to join them, he was with one of the guilds we occasionally raid with.  So I left the PUG and joined them (guessing more success).  I was flying over to get on the boat and I noticed it was really raining.  For some reason this looked visually better than I remember.  There is so little weather in WoW though I could be wrong.  I hope they put more weather in Cataclysm.

Just as I was landing I got a summon to the instance.  Apparently they had already been attempting her and had some openings that Inien and I filled.  I remember standing here with 40 people so many times back in the day

The fight seemed pretty much the same except for more adds.  Wowhead has a strategy guide up for her for your viewing pleasure. Obviously Onyxia was a bit more beefy as welll as her whelps!  I can’t wait for my anniversary pet

We defeated her first try, well our first try anyways   All they needed was the dynamic duo!  Inien was quite happy with the Arcane changes, he saw an increase in DPS.  Onyxia was not friendly to the casters providing tons of Plate   I was so excited when I was researching to write this post I noticed they recreated the shards!  The Purified Shard of the Scale and Purified Shard of the Flame MUST be mine!  I used the original Shard of the Scale for a while into BC even.  If I recall I got it on my first Onyxia run, and it was my first Epic ever, which was a REALLY big deal at that time. They made the set really sweet too, I must have them!  I did win the Enlarged Onyxia Hide Backpack which I felt happy to get.  Back in the day I always wanted the original bag but never got it   It was a lot harder to get things when you had to share like 5 things with 40 people

After all that fun Inien and I ended up in a guild run for the Heroic Daily which was Utgarde Keep.  I was rushing them a long because I had to do something before bed so I was “helping” to pull and DPS   Then after we finished I realized that two of the DPS were brand new 80s that had never done even the regular UK.  They were people I didn’t know, we had an influx of new people in the guild recently.

The other notable patch changes was a few talent changes in Shadow that should increase Shadow Priest DPS which I’m sure will make them happy.  There was also a bug fix on my Glyph of Power Word: Shield so that the heal uses my crit instead of the targets.  This is nice and I noticed it right away because they fixed Divine Aegis for it last patch and now when the heal crits you get dual bubbles

Oh and to quote a Mage whine they added a new inscription item “Added a recipe for Runescroll of Fortitude. This item grants a stamina buff equal to the highest rank of Power Word: Fortitude (untalented) to all players in the raid.” which of course means no one will ever bring a Priest to a raid ever again…Ever!

Anyways was a great night, had lots of fun, good job Blizzard!

Had a long day, not a lot of energy but I got on of course to at least do my round of Brewfest activities.  I’m up to 200 tokens, I need to get 350 for the 3 pieces of clothing to go dance drunk in Dalaran with.   Thankfully according to the comments on wowhead you can sell the clothes back so I should be able to to do so and buy the brew of the month club.  That will complete the meta for me at that point, and my Long Strange Road achievement.  I’m still terrified I won’t make it for some reason.

I only pulled another 20 tokens from ram running today, yesterday it was 18.  I think I need to watch a video for the optimum path or something because I have heard anyway you can squeeze out 40 if your good.  If it wasn’t for them extending brewfest another week I wouldn’t make it at this rate.  However since it is longer as long as I maintain my pace I should make it.

Then the next achievement I’ll care about I think is the new Pilgrim one.  After all the meta reward on that one is a pet turkey!

I got on after spending most of the day trying to recover from my cold.  I noticed that Brewfest was in the middle of setup.  I don’t think I ever saw that before

So after getting around I went and did  a Heroic ToC.  We did so good and were so fast we went over to do the Heroic Daily too.  We went over to the Nexus and did that in 25 minutes flat.  I do believe that was the fastest I’ve ever done that one   The tank, a gnome warrior was nuts, he would run in and pull tons of mobs and we pretty much chain pulled the whole time.  I managed to keep up though.  After that we kind of broke up as Inien as trying to get together an Oculus group.

It had been forever since I had done Oculus and I remember why now   It is one of the more annoying designs.  It took us a few tries to get the last boss down but finally got it.

After that I went and checked and Brewfest was up so Inien and I just basically messed with that for the rest of the evening into the wee morning hours.  I have only a few of the harder achievements to do for my grand long strange road achievement   I’ll continue to do the dailies every day, I hope I can work the new pet into my purchases too.
