Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

About

Laneer

Welcome to wowpriests.info, my name is Laneer a World of Warcraft enthusiasts and a Priest! I have been playing WoW Stress Test 1. I bought my way into that one, and was also in Stress Test 2, and Open Beta. I unfortunately was not in closed beta so no mind rot or anything for me but I did play when we had Dwarf Mages!

I actually started a Priest because I figured it would be the last class I’d ever want to play. See while I was playing the Stress Test I didn’t want to spoil anything my original intention was to play a Druid, a Tauren Druid no less. I did however really like the Dwarf race so I went with a Dwarf for that reason. What I didn’t count on was finding the class so much fun. I can’t say what it was exactly that did it for me but I continued to play a Priest through all the pre-launch time and then when launch date came it was Dwarf power all the way.

I’ve been in a few guilds during my time in WoW but only 3 really matter. My first real guild experience was with Witch Hunters. Those who are older deathwing players might remember the guild. We were a fairly heavy PvP guild and used to run around the world harassing horde quite a bit. Our moto, “pay it forward” which I still hold to heart. The Witch Hunters days were very memorable and when we closed up shop I was sad. We had some people dividing the guild, mostly the loot hungry ones. The officers didn’t have the energy to hold the guild together and decided to call it quits.

I ended up next finding a home in FEST. FEST was a different bunch of people, a little more crude than I but always entertaining :) I did a lot of raiding with FEST. All the old world dungeons, completing most of the content. I learned a lot, and I think became a better healer. Although healers were always taking the blame for everything in raids :P FEST eventually ran into similar problems as WH and began to implode on itself. Eventually it was decided FEST was going to merge with remainder of Raven Crest Watch (which I can’t recall what it was called at the moment) to form Necessary Evil. I stayed in NE for a very short time. They were a little too hardcore for me and treated the non-raiders less than members. I went guildless for a bit, and joined and left a bad guild.

Eventually made my way into a guild created by some ex-FEST members called Casuals. It is a great guild, we help eachother, do 5 and 10 mans. They have been doing some 25 mans with NE people though I don’t participate in that. I’ve tried 25 mans many times and disliked it greatly. I’ll stick to 10 mans which I do like when I have time :) This guild suits my needs fine and I still have my friends in NE which I still converse with and will help out.

Eventually I decided to part ways with Deathwing like many of my friest in FEST did before me.  I thought I would never do this but I transfered to a PvE server, Doomhammer in which I had already had a relationship with.  Doomhammer is where my old EQ guild settled when they moved onto WoW.  Inian and I were already well established on Deathwing, transfers didn’t exist then so we made characters over there and periodically played as you have read on this site.  I wavered shortly after moving after they gave us the ability to go to a PvP server from a PvE server which wasn’t possible before, but eventually settled on Domhammer.

Doomhammer is a great server because it has a heavy population, a bit Alliance heavy which I guess is good for me :P   Of course its biggest fault is also its large population as it sometimes contributes to lag issues, and queues.  It is fun over all having so many people the server seems more alive than other servers I’ve been on.   The server runs on the same cluster as Deathwing, in the same Battlegroup so I really haven’t gone far :)

If all that didn’t completely bore you to death and you want to know more, check out my MMO history page for more information on what I’ve seen and done.
