Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

I am a minority in my guild in having just one level 80.  If I was to put a label on my guild mates it would be altoholics!   I do have a few alts though, one is even close to 80.  I plan to add one more to this list, probably the last one, but who knows!  I will be making a Worgen when Cataclysm comes  out.  I plan to make a Warrior so I have a pure melee character.  I considered Rogue but I think I have made 3 rouges now that never make it past 20.  The Warrior should be interesting, I even got a name for him already, Furryous! I don’t normally use silly names, but was making an exception this time.  Will be very interested to see the new leveling progression in Cataclysm.

Laneir my mage was the original Laneer on Doomhammer till I renamed him when I moved my main off Deathwing.  Inien and I both had Mages on Doomhammer because we used to come there to play with our old guilld mates from EQ.  Till that day, what was that a year ago?  When we finally decided to just move over to Doomhammer. So yes now that Inien and I moved over he has TWO mages on the same server   One thing I can’t wait for though is the race change.  While I was generally against the idea of the service before, I look forward to making Laneir a Dwarf after Cataclysm comes out

Fesstir is my oldest alt I still have though not my first.  My first alt was Dunbar, a Dwarf  Hunter.  I started him when Laneer was like 45 or so and got him to around 21 I think.  At that time I kept telling myself I need to not make an alt and concentrate on my main and eventually deleted him.  I think I made Fesster, the original spelling of his name, when I was 60 on Laneer.  When I brought Fesster over to Doomhammer I had to come up with a new name as it was taken so Fesstir was my best approximation. I always enjoyed Destruction with this character and my Imp, and though I’ve never really had the gear for it I always stuck with it.  I may actually get Fesstir out again when Cataclysm comes out because I really like the sound of the the changes they are making to their systems.  I think I will wait till they let you race change to Worgen, because I think I’m going to de-gnomify Fesstir

Finally we have Mooku, my horde alt.  Inien and I originally created them before BC came out to get a feel for the other side.  Inien has a Shaman cow named Mooshu.  We also started it on a server that wasn’t in the same cluster as ours because back in the day the servers went down more and so when Deathwing was down we would go play on Akama.  The biggest problem with Akama was it had a very crappy economy, and very low population.  We haven’t played these characters in a long time, I’ve tried to get into it a few times but for some reason couldn’t.

I got on with Mooshu(Inian) today to do pretty much the last of the quests we can do without 5 people in Shadow Moon.  I helped Mooshu with some quests I had done, and we also finished up the quests dealing with that Path of bloodelves over by the scryer city.

Our first successful thing was to do Uvuros, he is a 5 man quest but I thought he was easy enough we could win.  I was right but only barely   You’ll notice we finished him off with me having only 391HP to spare lol  Of course after this I said lets go do gorfiends armor that’ll be easy too.  Unfortunately he hits harder than I remmeber.  I had a restro druid on me before who didn’t seem like he was doing much.  Anyways when Mooshu was in his Enhancement gear we got him to 45%.  When he was in his healin gear we got him to 45%.  Which says a lot about how good our team is   In WOTLK we’ll be an even better Duo!  So we gave up after those two deaths and continued on that path quest.

We did all the quests in that chain and successfully beat the 2 elite guys at the end, and the big giant guys.  Of course not without some pain after all   We were starting sort of in the middle of the path where I was always doing it and we kept slipping up or catching that annoying calvery guys.  So we moved to the end of the path and worked our way back.  That worked out much better!   Also when we went to kill the big rock guys I was worried I was going to get credit because it says “While in disguise” but that went away when I went into animal forms.  But as long as you have the tabard on it counted apparently I debated a lot between the tanking or DPS ring but ended up going with the tanking one.

We finished off the night doing that quest that starts the demon weapon chain.  Not intending to take it all the way of course since that one actually COSTS money and doesn’t make you any lol  I’m sitting at around 2300 gold now.

If only they allowed interfaction/server transfers so I could email some gold to him from Laneer   I would totally give him the rest of it.  I guess it is on to Netherstorm after this!

I had to come home early to have some work done at the house.  I got up really early so I was tired and debated sleeping but ended up getting on Mooku instead.  I finished up the last of my non group quests in the instance and managed to get a group to do gorfiends armor.  That is the quest where you fight the giant ghost dragon.  It took forever but was pretty easy, I tanked and we had a restro druid healing.  We also had a rogue with us who realized at the end of the fight he wasn’t standing close enough to hit the dragon

So it is going to be time to move onto Netherstorm here pretty quick.  I have a few things I want to finish up in Shadowmoon.  I want to start getting into some SV groups as well so I can get my cenarion faction up.  It is like the only faction I’d really like to grind on Mooku because I want that awesome tanking weapon

I managed to get on early today much to the joy of my very frustrated self.  Needless to say RL did not treat me well.  A bit of Cow time is just what the doctor ordered

So I returned to my ShadowMoon questing for fun, gear, and profit!   Of course it was fairly light on the gear, I know there are a few good things from this area, and a few good things from Netherstorm.  I’m going to have to start squeezing in some instancing to do better gear.  Luckily Akama seems to be even more active than Deathwing!  It is weird Akama used to have such a tiny population now seems to be thriving.  They even finished the Alchemy Lab, something Deathwing still hasn’t done.

I worked on a lot of the chain quests.  There are quite a few of them in this zone, and Netherstorm for that matter.

I made it to one of my favorite quests.  I remember the first time doing this I thought it was hilarious.  It is the one where you have to find the rotten egg.  It seemed like it took me forever.  Since Druids can’t curse disease like Laneer can, I was puking all the time   This is me flying off on my way to the next quest.  I call this my bombing run, look out below!

To go along with that theme, this is me turning the quest in causing everyone around me to go into this barf-o-rama.  Yes this is a hilarious quest chain   The sucky thing about a lot of these quests is they end in 5 man encounters and it is often difficult to get the people together to do them.   I did manage to 4 man Ulverous or whatever his name was, the fiery doggy guy.  I actually feral healed it!  Wahoo!  I healed, Warrior Tanked, Hunter and Rogue DPSed.  I didn’t even run out of mana which means we could have probably 3 manned it.

One of the last quests before I finished up for the evening.  I retired early because I was tired.  Everyone was out still, but my energy reserves are extremely low!  Anyways this is what Mooku would look like if he was a silly Bloodelf   “The dark times will pass.”  was I believe able?

I ended the night up just over 2k gold.  I’ve made a little over 600 gold in 3 small sessions of questing, yay!  So I am 2/5ths done, I will have my epic flight form!

I managed to sneak on early this morning when most everyone was out of the house and everyone else was napping.  I got on to find my mailbox crammed with stuff from Inian.  He had been very busy doing dailies apparently  I was disenchanting stuff, and taking care of things.  You know, that exciting mini game of inventory management!  I ran over to make the Primal Mooncloth, Inian wants 3 of the new 28 slot herb bags.

I was full on enchanting supplies so I made a trip to the auction house to put some up.  I stopped by in IF also to turn in a bunch of Rune Cloth I had from my last Timbermaw faction farming run  I always check the AH for stuff.  There is like nothing ever on there anymore.  I swear everyone must have stopped playing or something.  The world drops just aren’t there anymore.  I did run into a very old, and mostly worthless enchant that I had to have.  They were not even totally rapping me for it either

Later on I was talking with Inian about WOTLK stuff.  He had been looking at the wiki for possible specs for him and his few alts.  We got to talking about the Cows and I was realizing that we had not played them for quite a while.  After reviewing what little news there is on the Druid front in WOTLK I jumped on and found my Inner Cow once again.

Given that Laneer is pretty maxed out at this point with a good sum in the bank I think I’ll spend some time and try to get Mooku perhaps a little better geared, and his epic flight skill Given he still has tons of quests available and all the new dailies it shouldn’t be too hard.

I was really enjoying it too, It had been a while since I had him out and I forgot how much fun he is.  It is a completely different kind of fun from Laneer or Fesster.  With Laneer it is all about the healing, the life and death and I really enjoy that.  With Fesster it is all about burning things.  Caster DPS has its charms but then there is something to be said about being up in the mobs face.  Yes Mooku is a Feral druid and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  He matches so perfectly actually with Inian’s cow, Mooshu who is a Enhancement Shaman.

While everyone was out I actually managed to sneak in and play a little after Inian and I had been talking. I’m a little ahead on gold thanks to never having had to buy regular flight form, but then he has more time than me  We were just doing some of the Shattered Sun dailies out on the island for fun.  I did have myself based in Shadowmoon, which I think i will continue to quest there.  I can get gold AND badly needed upgrades to my horrible gear  I am actually quite surprised at how well I do with the gear I have.  Man when Mooshu and Mooku are together watch out it is like a freight train coming through

So you will probably start seeing some more posts coming from Akama.  Which btw if you have a guild over there that could use two skill part timers let me know.  Mooshu and Mooku are still very much unguilded.

I started off on Deathwing today and managed to farm enough Silk finally to make my Primal Mooncloth Bag.

That gives me a few new spots in the bank now!   I managed to clear some room as well by taking one of my alts I never play and making him my potion storage.  I get sooooo many potions now thanks to Treasure Detection that my bank was just full of Health and Mana pots.  Inian hasn’t had to make me any ever since they made the boxes have something useful in them.

I looked around for Heroic or Regular Shattered Halls a little later when Inian got on but there was none.  So I decided to go to Akama.

I got on Mooku and ran over and did the first of the Skyguard quests that I had not done yet.  After all I had a silly quest item in my inventory taking up the very little space Mooku has.  Inian eventually joined me on Mooshu and we stirred up quite a bit of trouble in Skettis. A silly hunter killed Mooshu after he had been weakened by several monstrous Kalari and was waiting for him to spawn. So I snuck over there and Mooshu lured him out and we killed the hunter.  For good measure we killed him about another 4 or 5 times lol

Then I preceded to start trouble with all the other alliance in the area it was fun of course   I eventually just decided to finish my quests and we went to see what the instance dailies were.  With luck it happened to be SV, which happens to be the only faction I care about on this character

With that I was the tank, sandwiched between 2 enhancement shamans with some mage CC/DPS and a Holy Paladin healing.  Now I am a little rusty and probably need some practice tanking.  I didn’t do half bad, but the other shaman, not Mooshu was really good at stealing agro from me, he was quite a bit of DPS.  I’m still not very well geared either, on top of needing more tanking practice.  Mooshu and I have done like no instancing, or any of the high level quests so our gear is actually pretty noobish.  We only wiped once though on the first boss because the paladin died in the rain storm

It was pretty fun and I got a useful helmet from the quest lady outside the instance and I’m 50% to revered with the Cenarions.  No other good drops in there though for me.

I started the evening out on Deathwing, just minding my own business doing my dailies.  Then all of the sudden it happened….Loot lag, not just a little loot lag either. This is December 2004 kind of loot lag that lasted for ever and kept occurring!

Here I am waiting for a chest I opened to actually disappear and give me my stuff.   Hoping that no mobs come along and kill me while all this is occurring.  I finally had enough of it, as did Inian and we decide to go to one of our other servers (the reason we have other servers actually ).    I guess all those complainers about the weekly maintenance need to shut their traps, we obviously need it.  It has been several weeks now with only a reboot on Tuesday.  It must effect the high population servers worse, I imagine it is DB related.

I considered Doomhammer to finish getting the Mages to 70 but it is on the same cluster as Deathwing and was having the same exact problems.  In fact when I switched to it I didn’t even get a character select screen for quite some time.

Finally we went over to Akama our old standby that always works

I started off doing some of the questing in Shadowmoon again.  I was doing the little undead birdie quest and ended up having fun harassing a hunter while I was doing it too Mooshu finally joined me when I see Warlock and want to take him out.  I had seen a Druid slightly before hand and I should of known better but I didn’t…  I had the Warlock 3/4ths dead in my initial stun attack and then bam the druid heals him and we have a problem.  Mooshu gets toasted, I try to get away but the Druid has Swift flight form and the Warlock an epic mount before I get out of combat.  Then they decide to camp us for a while.  Eventually after like 8 or so minutes they give up and leave.

So I continued one of the quests lines and ended up over in Eclipse point.  Again doing quests I had done all previously.  Yes I’m going to complain about this before.  One of the most fun parts about leveling the horde was all the new content, and different things.  Unfortunately in BC blizzard gave the horde and the alliance the exact same quests to do.  Sure the reasoning you are doing it is slightly altered but its the same damn quest.  They better not do this again in WOTLK is all I’m saying.  I want at least 50% unique content!

Anyways did some more questing and then off to bed.  My goals on Mooku is to get a lot of the night quested gear in Shadowmoon and Netherstorm and while I do that get enough gold for my swift flight form!

Errr not quite, but in the air anways!  Congratulations to Mooshu who had been sneaking on and getting money enough to buy his slow flight skill and build his ROLFCopter!

He surprised me as we were meeting up to kill coosh choosh he road up in it   I wasn’t even pay attention, he had been telling me before we got on he had spent a lot of money on “stuff”.

We finished up a quest chain in Nagrand, beat up the elite demons and destroyed the new camps there then we went on to Shadowmoon.  I didn’t have the flight point even.  Mooshu of course had already been over there that is how he was making his money for his mount.  So he ran around doing some of the quests with me.  I am saving up for my epic flight skill here because I want epic flight form.  I so love shapeshifting Regular flight form is just too slow, Laneer has spoiled me with netherdrake!

Inian messaged me that he felt like some cows tonight so off to Akama with Mooshu and Mooku! With a wonderful video such as the “The Great Kodo” who wouldn’t feel like cows! So we headed over and finished up our Nagrand quests.

As we wrapped up for the evening I ran over to do what Mooshu had already got his Swift Kodo. Mulgore is such a peaceful looking place.

Ya! I have my own Great Kodo now! I noticed Mooshu was able to most often get places faster than me in flight form even when he had to go around. So I decided for long travels I definitely needed me a fast Kodo! No other mount would do, for they are only adequate for putting in a stew!

So I got on this evening for some PvP fun with Mooku. I decided to take advantage of WSG weekend and it turned out that was the PvP daily again too. I had done it just before leaving last night as well, though forgetting to mention it.I like WSG as a druid, mainly cause druids really excel here WSG is even more fun as horde too, why? Because we win! I won 5 straight WSG games this evening. Some of them were close, some of them were blow outs, all of them were fun!One of the wins was against a premade. It was a horrible premade but it was one. They had lots of epiced out people but they couldn’t do anything but hold onto the flag really well. Eventually we’d pry it away and cap. They never scored once, but the game did last like 30 minutes. It was a really exciting game though with lots of back and forth and strategy on our part. We all worked well together despite not being a random group of folks against a supposed organized force.
