Memory Lane

by on Sep.07, 2009, under WoW

It is funny what you can find on your hard drive when cleaning up.  In my documents folder I happened across the PDF of my original WoW CE, the Expansions, and the creation of my original account.  Yes I am a pack rat, but you already know that you’ve seen my bank!

possibledruidspells

Then I moved onto my Pictures folder and found I had a bunch of old WoW screenshots.  The date on the files say June 5th 1999, but I don’t think WoW would have been this far along with EQ was first starting so I’m going to assume they are from later than that.  Certainly probably early beta or alpha.  I uploaded them all my my flickr account and created a set for them.  I really should upload all the screenshots I have in my WoW folder, they do go back to 2004.  It is funny because my original screenshots in PDF because that is what the Mac client initially defaulted too :P

Rotgrip

Then of course I found my old stuff on Rotgrip :)  This was a running joke in my old guild FEST for a while.  In fact that was my nick name Rotgrip.  This was because I was wearing Rotgrip for a  long time while raiding.  I never got an upgrade for many many moons.  I strangely can’t remember what I replaced it with.  I believe it was some shoulders from AQ40 :) Yes I have the T2 helmet, Benediction and Rotgrip! :P

Anyways that was my trip down memory lane.  Look for me to upload the rest of my screenshots in my archive soon.  I think that would be a neat thing to have around.

Exalted With Argent Dawn

by on Jul.26, 2008, under Farming, Gameplay

Inian was over and we were messing around with Beta and thought about going on Live and doing something.  I was very close to finishing my Argent Dawn faction so he joined me for a Romp through Stratholm.

No running for you

Grabbed him before he ran.  We did the whole front area of the undead area before starting the barron run.

45 minute baron with seconds to spare!

We ran in and started the baron just in time.  Yes it didn’t matter if he killed the girl but we always try to save her :P   He didn’t give us his stupid horse again though hehe After we finished he we went and did live side for the hell of it.

Exalted with Argent Dawn

When I was done I ended up with 20 of those tokens to use which easily finished out my exalted!  Though I am not max exalted yet I’ll probably have to do another invader turn in or two.

This was my 16th exalted faction.  Still working on my 5 cities doing exodar quests, and my timbermaw is going well.  I probably won’t get much further than that before the expansion comes out and there will be tons of new things to do.  If I do have some time Cenarion Circle or possibly the goblins :)

Happy Birthday Casuals

by on Jul.24, 2008, under Gameplay

I had been out late to a Birthday party ironically when I got on Live real quick to check something.  I had totally forgoten that it was Casuals Birthday!  I arrived just in time for the screenshot attempts.  I tried to take a few too.

First Attempt

First mistake was trying to do it in shattrath probably but it wasn’t my idea :P

Better Attempt

You’ll notice the guy in the Furbolg custome up front, he isn’t in our guild he was some jerk who kept harrasing us.

Best Attempt

This was our best line anyways, but the jerk was still there.  Oh well!  He could be photoshopped out if anyone had the energy :P

Happy Birthday Casuals!

Still On A Rep Benge

by on Jul.21, 2008, under Farming, Gameplay, Questing

I continued today with a bit more Exodar newbie quests.  I know I’m silly, but i have some drive to work on these reps now before the expansion comes out and more interesting reps become available :)

Fun mounted

I was working on this one chain dealing with the Furbolg and got a chance to use my mount on this quest.  Since you wouldn’t have had a mount at this point I’m surprised these wings worked like this :)

Furbolg everywhere hate me

I ended up also killing more evil Furbolg’s to save good ones.  I guess I will end up being the scurge of evil furbolgs in no time!

Make like a tree

They added another disguise and watch quest out here.  This time gathered the mats and dressed up like a tree.  The tree doesn’t look at all conspicuous on a beach right? :P

Much rep

I didn’t play long but did enjoy the quests I did.  I was fairly impressed with how much rep I was able to accumulate in a short time.  I’ll have to do this for the Night Elves too.  It certainly beats farming Runecloth!

The Exodar

by on Jul.20, 2008, under Farming, Gameplay, Questing

I’ve been pretty busy since I last posted.  Of course there was the big news with the launch of WOTLK beta, and the bigger disapointment I still don’t have access to it :(   I’ll have more to say on beta later :)

Dead Deadwood\

Did manage to play a little WoW on Sunday.  I snuck on while my son was asleep and slayed a few deadwood.  Yes I’m still working on my timbermaw faction, and yes I am a weirdo.

Dying Deadwood

Besides I find it relaxing causing mass distruction. :)   I’m going to have even more fun in the expansion I think.  Between the modification of Searing Light, and the new AOE healing talent Holy Nova can get 10% more damage, and 10% more healing, woot!

Taking a break

I logged in felwood at the little night elf house near the deadwood.    Ahhh restfull sleep.

Exodar newbie quests

I got on later and went to the exodar newbie zone to work on their faction which is actually the lowest.  Though super easy for me, I’ve never done any of there quests, well a few during beta.  They changed it a while back that you get the faction for grey quests.  Plus you get some percentage of the faction as alliance faction so by doing the quests you actually get faction in all 4.

No swimming for me!

Of course a dignified priest like myself had no need to swim to the crystal.  I think I’ll do the newbie quests here and see how that does for me.  I did 4 or 5 before I went to bed, didn’t take long.  Got a good chunk of faction.  Plus I get to turn in lots of Rune cloth I got while farming the deadwood.  Which I am almost done with, almost finishing my 2nd stack of feathers, only need 1 more then things will go quickly to revered and I can turn in for exalted :)

Finally News!

by on Jul.17, 2008, under Farming, Gameplay, WoW

Of course the first thing I saw tonight when I logged onto WoW was the new WOTLK info…Achievements!  It is funny because it was only recently I was posting on the boards about wanting something similar to this and they had already invented it.  They talk about some of the achievements being retroactive, but not exactly what.  I’m really hoping we can get numbers like how many total quests we completed and things like that.  I see in a screenshot where it says 50 quests, but I don’t know if those sort of things start at WOTLK, or after.

Since you cannot repeat a quest I’m assuming that they have to keep track of every quest you ever completed and should therefore know how many.  Other things I liked to see like monster kills and such they probably don’t keep track of.  It will be a neat thing for achiever types like Inian and I.  This is finally something that can distinguish myself from some other Dwarf Priest, even if it is completely meaningless gameplay wise.  Not quite my AA system, but certainly an improvement to gameplay!

After reading all that I got in and ran over and grabbed the recipie to make Inian his three 28 slot herb bags.  Luckily I was able to make just enough Primal Mooncloth today to make them :)   He had already sent me the  Fel Lotus needed.

I ran out to Felwood to do a little more work on my timbermaw faction and I got interrupted.  I was doing pretty well too, no one around except some 50 something dreanei shaman who promptly left when I started killing 15 mobs at a time lol  Thalios wanted to do Manatombs on his druid and pestered me to go.

MT Last Boss

I worked really hard durning the instance to get a mace skill up but no go.  I’m 348 now and those last points are hard for someone who isn’t whacking things all the time.  Mostly we were into pure chaos since Inian and I were there, and we have duoed this zone before we were not worried about anything hehe  I really wanted to go for a chance at the boot enchant that drops here (completest)  but of course it didn’t drop.   Then I remembered during the run I had forgot to eat dinner so I logged early to do that before bed.

So glad to finally see WOTLK info starting to come out, and I’m glad it isn’t more of the same, there are actually new things in store!

The Burning!

by on Jul.15, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing

I felt like burning things tonight so I got on Fesster.  I do want to finish out and get Fesster to 70 so when the guild is doing things I can tag along on him since Laneer basically doesn’t need to do anything anymore.  Well I would like the healing trinket from ZA but I need to 1) be on when we are going, and B) we need to actually go when we say we are :P

I continued the Geniocide quests in Nagrand.  I sorta stayed around the city and never got any horde trouble.  I did hear a lot of complaining about Horde in full arena sets harrasing people at the top of the zone trying to quest.   Apparently there were about 8 of them.

Out of sync

I did end up having quite a few sync issues.  It started with this guy, I wasa killing him then suddely everything stopped and I couldn’t damage him anymore.  He didn’t appear dead, my UI kind of thought I had agro but  I didn’t.  So I sat down and ate just to see.  I never did get to loot this guy.  Further down the hill I ran into being out of sync with some Windrocs and other elementals and had to relog.

About 10 minutes after that relog I started having big lag like things would stop then complete really fast.  I checked my network settings though and I didn’t have any huge latency or anything so it was very odd I was having these troubles.  You would think for a few billion dollars Blizzard could at least keep my session in sync! :P

I enjoyed the night of burning anyways.  I really need that Empowered Imp talent that is in WOTLK so Pizpep and I can really kick ass :)   I got on pretty late though so I didn’t do a lot.  I’m hoping I can get on a little earlier sometime this week and get in an instance run.  I am not making a dent in my rest exp, and I’m only 50% away from 69.  I even already sent the mats off to Inian to get a Primal Might so Fesster can have a riding crop :)

Looks like the patch is tomrrow too.  Yay no more dispellable shields for Fesster, and a combined curse debuff.  Laneer gets nothing cool except the ability to make Inian 28 slot herb bags which I suppose is pretty neat, if not a bit late Blizzard!

Onward To Nagrand!

by on Jul.13, 2008, under Gameplay, Questing

I felt like burning things today so I popped on Fesster.  I was on a little late but thought I could get started on Nagrand.  I managed to take no screenshots tonight some how though :P

Before I went off to Nagrand I had made it over to Shattrath to turn in that birdie guy quest chain.  The one where you get attacked by waves of birds then a big giant one.  I didn’t think I was going to make it through this one but I deathcoiled the bird, then it ran off and then did some aoe attack that knocked down a undead rogue and he killed it! LOL  I thanked him and went on my way.  I got a damage neck which I’ll use for soloing, it has lots of stamina on it.  I’ll keep my crit one for grouping :)

After that I went over to Nagrand and picked up the million quests and was running around following the bread crumb quests to pick up even more quests. I was about to go to the elemental throne when someone sent me tells begging me to do Durn.  I volunteered to help even though I wasn’t on the quest yet.  I get over there and I find myself with a bunch of noobs.  They attack Durn in the middle of 5 or 6 hostile mobs.  They had a 70 healer (Shadow Priest) but it didn’t matter.  After we all died horribly I told them we’d be fine if they attacked him in the right spot.  So we sort of made our way back over there except the druid tank left, and then they thought that we could still do it without the tank and “DPS him down”.   I laughed at them and left the group.

I went back over to nessing way and the throne and got all the quests there.  I was killing some elementals on the hill, admittedly over by horde base when a 70 rogue (a bad one) jumped me.  He kept me stun locked for a good amount of time of course the whole time pizpep was wailing on him and he eventually realized he was going to have to do something about it.  So he turned to pizpep and I was free and death coiled him, and tossed a backlash Incinerate at him.  I didn’t get a chance to get a fear off though, by this time we were both almost dead.  Stupidly I didn’t ever curse him or he would be, nor did I have a health stone up or he would have been.  I did end up loosing mostly because I paniced.  I have little to know experience pvping as Fesster, since I’ve been leveling him the only resistance I’ve come up is packs of horde which I wouldn’t win at anyways.  Oh and I just thought of something else, I could have won with ShadowFury!  Oh well next time! lol

Just before bed which came late because I wasn’t paying attention I did that horrible jumper quest and got a nifty crit cloak.  There happened to be 3 people doing the quest and one of them was a mage.  He was able to get up there while me and the warrior just kept either almost dying or successfully dying :)   Thankfully they did fix it so only one of us had to get up there.  I remember on Mooku, poor Mooshu still had to find a way up there.

Made some good use of my rest exp, and I we had the halaa buff all evening so I got extra damage! Woot!

Boooo Kara

by on Jul.08, 2008, under Gameplay

I was on Deathwing for a bit just to do some of the excting mini game, and get some stuff up on the AH I had made yesterday.  I noticed because of the lack of people on the server enchanting supplies pricing is skyrocketing.  Shard prices were really up.  So I had made a bunch of shards from a mass quantity of Netherweave I happen to still have.  I was selling shards for 28g 28s 28c :)   I always put my prices with the same values like that :P   It all sold by the time I logged out for the evening I had like 7300g or so.

I was kind of annoyed because I only stayed on Deathwing because Thalios was talking about doing ZA.  So I played with my son till it was about his bed time and by that time they had a group then I find out they changed to Kara.  They couldn’t get enough geared people to go to ZA.  I wasn’t all that interested in Kara, but I went anways because I didn’t want to leave them hanging.

Kara is just so boring now because it is no challenge.  I kept trying to get them to let me solo heal it, then it might be interesting.  I did manage to pickup the wrists Bands of Indwelling.  They have a little more spirit, and int than my badge ones.  They also have more stamina which I have been trying to increase.  There was a total net loss of 20 healing which isn’t going to kill me, especially when I’m gaining HP, Mana, In and out of combat mana regeneration.  At first I didn’t think I was going to loose anything until I realized Ratingbuster doesn’t include enchants on the items in the totals it displays.   OOops!   Originally I was using my old wrists as both DPS and Healing as they had tons of Crit on them.   Since I’m not so concerned about that anymore the new wrists were a better deal.

We only went as far as curator.  If I get on in time I might finish out for the badges, otherwise I’ll go play Mooku :)

My Inner Cow

by on Jul.05, 2008, under Farming, Gameplay, Questing

I managed to sneak on early this morning when most everyone was out of the house and everyone else was napping.  I got on to find my mailbox crammed with stuff from Inian.  He had been very busy doing dailies apparently :)  I was disenchanting stuff, and taking care of things.  You know, that exciting mini game of inventory management!  I ran over to make the Primal Mooncloth, Inian wants 3 of the new 28 slot herb bags.

Missing Enchant

I was full on enchanting supplies so I made a trip to the auction house to put some up.  I stopped by in IF also to turn in a bunch of Rune Cloth I had from my last Timbermaw faction farming run :)  I always check the AH for stuff.  There is like nothing ever on there anymore.  I swear everyone must have stopped playing or something.  The world drops just aren’t there anymore.  I did run into a very old, and mostly worthless enchant that I had to have.  They were not even totally rapping me for it either :)

Later on I was talking with Inian about WOTLK stuff.  He had been looking at the wiki for possible specs for him and his few alts.  We got to talking about the Cows and I was realizing that we had not played them for quite a while.  After reviewing what little news there is on the Druid front in WOTLK I jumped on and found my Inner Cow once again.

Given that Laneer is pretty maxed out at this point with a good sum in the bank I think I’ll spend some time and try to get Mooku perhaps a little better geared, and his epic flight skill :) Given he still has tons of quests available and all the new dailies it shouldn’t be too hard.

I was really enjoying it too, It had been a while since I had him out and I forgot how much fun he is.  It is a completely different kind of fun from Laneer or Fesster.  With Laneer it is all about the healing, the life and death and I really enjoy that.  With Fesster it is all about burning things.  Caster DPS has its charms but then there is something to be said about being up in the mobs face.  Yes Mooku is a Feral druid and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  He matches so perfectly actually with Inian’s cow, Mooshu who is a Enhancement Shaman.

Yay Gold

While everyone was out I actually managed to sneak in and play a little after Inian and I had been talking. I’m a little ahead on gold thanks to never having had to buy regular flight form, but then he has more time than me :P  We were just doing some of the Shattered Sun dailies out on the island for fun.  I did have myself based in Shadowmoon, which I think i will continue to quest there.  I can get gold AND badly needed upgrades to my horrible gear :P  I am actually quite surprised at how well I do with the gear I have.  Man when Mooshu and Mooku are together watch out it is like a freight train coming through :)

So you will probably start seeing some more posts coming from Akama.  Which btw if you have a guild over there that could use two skill part timers let me know.  Mooshu and Mooku are still very much unguilded.
