Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

Got on late tonight, but wanted to get some stuff done.  For the dailies that work for me I did them, apparently they haven’t hotfixed the issue if you did something last year you couldn’t do it this year yet.  I expect they will probably be doing the hotfix tomorrow during the regular maintenance time.  I was doing some of the fires south of stormwind when Inien got on.  I needed to kill Ahune and so we decided to do it together.  We went ahead and even did it on heroic because we are that good.

After we finished Ahune we went ahead and finished slave pens because Inien needed that for his BC dungeon achievements.  It happened to be one of the ones I actually had already.  I still need to finish quite a few of them, and pick up some of the enchants I missed along the way   Speaking of which I got Ahunes enchant, yay!  We downed the rest of SP pretty easily.  We do make a good team, most of the time I go fully healing mode, and Inien does all the damage.  I can keep him alive pretty much through anything that doesn’t one shot him   PoM always comes in handy bouncing between us when we are duoing crap like this too.

I managed to almost finish the fires, and hope to complete all the midsummer achievements tomorrow.  Then go around to all the northrend fires and get enough for the pet, gota have the pet!

I was off trying to get some more badges today.  I joined a guidie in a PUG I saw him yelling for Heroic Mechanar.  So we get all the way over there and the leader, a hunter suddently reallizes he isn’t honored with the Shatt’ar.  So then we all decide we are going to do the daily.  So we go all the way down the Marsh and when we get there the rogue with us says it won’t let him in.  Then mentions he did that heroic earlier but he didn’t complete the daily quest.  He didn’t know you can’t do a heroic more than once a day, at least he says that.

By this time I was thinking things were getting a little rediculous.  We kicked him out and got another warlock and had to wait till he was ready to summon him.  Finally get started and things were even more interesting.  We never wiped or anything but that was just things to pure luck I think.

We had a Paladin tank, which I normally like but when he took on all the mobs I thought I was going to loose him every pull.  Then I looked at him, he had 3 or so greens, a few blues and a couple of epics.  He had decent HP it seemed but his defense or something was way too low.  I was litterally saving the day with Gheal crits.  If you NEED to crit to keep the tank alive well thats bad

We won the day and I think I would have been able to do that if it wasn’t for having 5/5 Empowered Healing.  I think I’m going to want to keep that now lol  After all you never now when you’ll have an undergeared tank in a heroic!

So far though Circle of Healing still not exciting to me.  Probably because I’m not doing the right instances.  Or maybe it just isn’t for me.  I wish it was still circle of renew

I got on fairly late and was going to try to run some Heroics and Inian had already been doing so.  His group was about finished with the Botanica they were running and they were going to do something else and they were going to have an opening.  So I waited till they were done and just continued to do my dailies.

We did a Heroic Slavepens run which for some reason I never managed to take a screenshot during It went fairly well but we did have a few “incidents”.  So I managed to get 3 badges out of that anyways.  The funniest part of the run was the Paladin tank kept thinking the Crab boss was the hardest boss ever.  He might be hard with a paldin if you didn’t have a lot of  plus healing since they really only have 2 heal spells to use.  But for a Priest I have PoM, Renew, GHeal, and Prayer of Healing after the volley’s.  Of course with the healing I have now I’m so over geared that I can do that in my sleep

Though I’m always trying to improve myself I’m probably over done for everything except maybe Heroic MGT which I still haven’t done.  I want to do it but want to make sure I got with properly geared people so I am not hating life the whole time.

Oh and I forgot to mention I was DPSing most of the time.  They had a Priest, he was a new 70 so was not as geared healing wise as me but I certainly had more DPS gear, and talents than him.  I actually do pretty damn good in my healing gear now.  With the regen I have it makes the horrible mana effeciency of holy damage not so bad   I was throwing renew on the tank all the time too and getting my Scarab to go off and that was in turn giving me super haste for my smites   I didn’t realize it would effect damage spells, I guess haste is haste, the scarab just won’t trigger except off a heal spell   It doesn’t even need a cast time apparently.

After we were done Inian and I ran over to the island and did all the quests there.  I probably have only 1 or 2 more fully set of quests before I’m finally exalted with the Shattered Sun.  We got  the two that send you back to Outlands, the Shadowmoon and one in Hellfire.  The Hellfire one is kind of neat it has you running around in this area I had noticed but never gone into.  You kill these big guys and get a gland and then you get a little ravenger pet to dig up these roots for you.  The area has a ton of bug mobs, so it was even super easy hehe

After doing all my banking and checking the AH I was about to log and ran into Thalios in the bank, and we had a late night dance session before I left

I am still in the testing process but I’ve currently swapped out Violation for Recount which is a different damage meter.  It seems to be a combination of the display of DamageMeter/Violation with information on the level of Recap.  Telling top spells, and keeping track of a lot more.  It seems kind of neat, I noticed they are also in the middle of rewriting it under the new system.  It is patched to work under the new combat log though.  It is a pretty interesting mod that keeps realtime graphs of raid performance and stuff like that.

I took today off being that it is my birthday.  I debated if I wanted to use the time today to farm for more badges or to work Fesster towards 70.  I decided I felt more like burning things and played Fesster.

I was questing in Zangamarsh while in LFG for Slavepens and Underbog.  Some guys asked if I wanted to do BF and I debated, and finally decided yes.  On my way over to BF I ran into a Fel Iron node that pushed me up to 375 mining yay!

It ended up being just me, a Paladin and a level 70 Enhancement Shaman.  Both were in the same guild and the Shaman was confident he could take care of everything.  It turns out he was quite correct!

This was the only part we were unsure about.  The endurance test before the second boss.  We actually did pretty damn good.  I thought we were all lost when I miss clicked and had one of the button pages bound incorrectly and it messed up my buttons and I had to rebind some stuff to fix it.  Finally got that working and fear bombed as much as possible while using my Succubus, Frost grendes and Fel Iron bombs, as well as Shadow Fury to hold off the mobs while the Shaman did most of the damage.  All I had time to really do is be a big distraction while the Paladin kept us alive.  I died just before the boss came out but the Shaman killed the boss is like 10 seconds so it was ok

Little bit later, and after some more questing I ended up in an Underbog group.  It was fun and I was beating the pants off the 66 hunter and the 70 rogue for the most of the zone.  See we had a paly tank so I was able to basically AOE every pull.  Eventually the rogue was so mad a level 64 was being him in DPS he started dragging mobs away from the paladin to kill them   In the end I got a robe that dropped off the last boss I was able to gem nicely.  Now I just need to get my meta gem and I’ll be sitting pretty!   I’m just so happy I am finally out of a tunic!  This left me really really close to 65, in which I did a few more quests and finally ended up with 65.

After getting 65, I went back and finished the last of my quests in Zangamarsh.  Thalios and some of the guys in the guilid wanted to take me on a run of something for my birthday so we went to Sethekk Halls.  It was a good run I got tad bit over 30% through 65 from it.  And for once managed to complete that quest on someone other than Laneer!   Both Mooku and Laneer the mage both managed to not get the first item off a boss and never finished one of the damn quests hehe

So I’m well into 65 now, and have finished Zangamarsh, not a bad day if I do say so myself!  So the halfway, well halfway through 60-70

I got on today with an interest in aquiring more badges.  The heroic daily was a nice and easy one Slave Pens so I stuck myself in the LFG for it.

It started out with a warrior that asked me how much healing I had, then quickly added the DPS and off we went.  The group was very high quality, quite glad to group with them.  We did the run very quickly too in just over 45 minutes.

When we were saving the druid guy for the buff, I was unfortunately mind controled, and almost amusingly killed our tank…Ooops!  Then the stupid NPC got all the agro and died, the rest of our DPS killed the mobs quickly but then we had to do the end boss without the buff.  However it did not turn out to be an issue it was quite easy in fact.  Made some good use of Prayer of Healing!

Just a couple more dailies off from getting my offhand.  After that I’ll probably be shooting for the pants.

Did my usual cooking daily followed by some treasure hunting.  Working on filling our potion tab in the guild bank

I kept an eye out for the heroic daily and got in one and for once was a good group.  Managed to complete it very quickly and very painlessly.  I hadn’t done heroic Slave Pens before.  I also continued the attunement quest that is going to be outdated soon    Now I just need to go kill gruul!

All the more badges toward my 150 goal for the Gavel of Naaru Blessings.   I’m going to follow that with Anveena’s Touch (60) and then finish out with Adorned Supernal Legwraps (100).  All of these things will be great upgrades for me.  Especially finally replacing my Naxx ring   The badge loot is the only excite loot for me I think.  Other than a few DPS pieces all the MT stuff heroic or not is not something I’m interested in.  It is all mostly spell haste stuff and I don’t care about spell haste.  I want more Healing and Mana regen, being able to spam faster doesn’t excite me.  The one other item in 2.4 I’d really like is the Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration. I’m Aldor exalted so it will proc +220 healing for me   This is an exalted reward from the new faction so it will be just a matter of the dalies and MT runs for it!
