Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

I had the day off today and my idea was I’d try to get in a full run of 25 man Naxx and actually see the whole dungeon.  I’ve had this plan a few times and it hasn’t worked out yet

I’ll start off on a light note   I was cleaning out the bank some more and found a bunch of those toothpicks from the Halloween event.  I took them out and just played with them through out the day to get rid of them.  I discovered something I never noticed before, or they got bugged cause I could swear they didn’t do that before.  The sparkle is no where near my mouth (admittedly covered by my beard) would be.  It is smack dab in the middle of my nose!  Just a bit disturbing

This Naxx run is the one I should have never gone on, I should have trusted my instincts from the begining.  The first indicator was the raid leader who was trying to invite me was on my ignore list.  I think it was because he had previously kept bugging me some time in the past to do Naxx from random tells.  I thought well maybe I shouldn’t hold that against him.  So after getting tells from other people in the raid I joined.

This raid had TONS of Priests, I have never seen so many Priests, and throughout the ordeal we actually kept getting more Priests.  Priests were apparently the only healers on.  The DPS in this raid was good, I mean we had at least 10 people who were pulling 3-5k dps no problem.  The healing was Horrible, and the tanking was sub-par.  So the problems I usually have were reversed, and it made things go just as bad   We had between 5-6 healers during the raid, but all the healing was being done by 3 of us.  There was a ret pally in the raid who had done more over all healing than some of the healers.

Ok so I got stuck with a bunch of horrible players, if this wasn’t bad enough they were also horrible people!  Just listening to them in vent made me sick.  There was a woman (one of the horrible healers) who was always going afk.  A conversation got started when she said let her know when we are pulling and she will stop feeding her kid.  I was like WoW, a few people cringed most laughed.  Then a conversation got started between her and a few other “parents” about what OTC drugs work best to put your kid to sleep.  She was saying benadryl, another guy was saying NyQuil, and then they got into a list of different kids of alcohol to use.  I was blown away on what horrible people they were.  Then later someone said something about duct ape in jest ( I hope ) and she said her husband won’t let her, but she followed with “but he is alloud to hang them on the wall”.  Oh and she had to go on smoke breaks too, so ya amazing lady :\

In the end a battle broke out between a bunch of them in vent where they were cussing each other out all of the place.  The main tank that had left came back into vent to mock everyone and it was quickly getting ridiculous.  I left shortly after we wiped to North the Plaguebringer for the 6th time.  That guy is a bag of loot and we couldn’t kill him.  The mages had apparently never decursed anyone before, and then after we finally got them to do that right the off-tanks we had couldn’t control the adds.  It was so horrible I must say I lost a little faith in Humanity.

After I finished that disaster I did the rest of my Dailies for the evening and looked for a normal Heroic run to do.  I ended up joining this group and doing Heroic UP, UK and HoL.  They were a great bunch of people, good players, and we did real well with no wiping.  They got me to my achievements of finishing off my Northrend Factions, and getting my 250 Emblem of Heroism achievements.

I did end the night on a low note, and drug poor Inien into it.  Someone wanted to do H VH so I join, our tank goes LD just before the first boss, the water guy…We wipe of course.  The DK says he can tank he has taking gear, I’m not sure but I take his word for it.  I grab Inien and we give it a go but he was just too squishy, not to mention he didn’t appear to know what he is doing.  We managed to kill the first boss but everyone died but the fury warrior and when we got back in we didn’t get to loot so nothing gained from all that.  Lame ending for the night though

We got back from a family outing and my son was down for a nap so I got on to see about finding some elders.  Right when I got on someone was calling for a healer for Heroic Gunrak.  I thought hey that instance only takes like 20 minutes and there is an elder in it!  So I joined this group, as usually I regretted it.  I think only one of them had ever done it   Here is a shot of the guy we wiped on when we attempted the second boss.

We wiped on him several times because people felt the need to stand in the purple goo.  They whined when we went to Eck, but that is where the elder is   It took several times to down him because their DPS was so bad he enraged and insta gibbed us.

When I got on in the evening I ran around and found all my Northrend Elders while I waited for Inien (who is feeling better thankfully) to get done with his Nexus run.  We got together a group for H UP which was the daily.

The tank told me before we invited him he had never done the instance before but he turned out to be really good.  In fact all of them were very good.  I also enjoyed having the boomkin along We downed the stupid guy on the mount really easily.  Man how I waited to kill him on Heroic.  Why do I have such a hard time finding quality people!  I hugged everyone after we killed him lol

The elder was just after the mounted guy and before this guy.  He was of course super simple   I think having Inien along was lucky.  I should make him wait for me and the daily more often!

After that I logged on Laneir and did some inscription work with Inien’s extra herbs   Then I was heading off to bed.  Then Inien apparently gets a tell from the tank we had in H UP wanting to know if he wanted to do Heroic Vault.  Inien tells me and I end up logging back on and joining too but I’m thinking it is only going to be like 20 minutes.  Well it took 20 minutes just to start and we wiped once   So I ended up going to bed later than I wanted.  It was sad too cause the PvE Priest robe dropped but it was the shadow priest version!  There were 2 other Priests besides me but they were both Holy.  I left though didn’t care about it, if only it had crit instead of hit

I go on tonight and into LFG for Utgarde Pinnacle which would have been especially nice since I have both the Heroic and Non Heroic dailies for it.   It wasn’t long though before a guildie asked if I would mind healing a mostly guild run of Burning Furnace.  BF just happened to be one of the instances I haven’t redone yet.  I had done the instances so many times in BC that I didn’t run back and do them all again when we got the achievement system in.  So I still need do to a lot of them.  I wanted to do it on heroic but they were all sub 70 and some of them didn’t have the key so we just did regular.

Holy Nova was a the ruler of the instance, still doing good damage to these mobs and healed for a good 1/3 of the groups life   They were doing some AOE and then I started encouraging larger AOE’s.  In non heroic mode anyways the mobs were never able to even break through my shields.

The bosses died pretty fast I didn’ thave to throw around much healing just shielding people.  I spent some time to work on my mace skillups too.  Even though it will be painful I want to get that weapon skill achievement

After that I did get that UP group, it seemed like things would be ok.  We had a DPS warrior that sucked as usual, an OK warlock which was quite full of himself (I know I should talk) and a decent mage.  We went through the first few bosses without incident and I though wahoo!

Then we get to this boss, and that was the end of our good fun.  We didn’t have any problems really except shooting down the guy.  The first fight was a good 15 minutes till I exhausted all mana getting abilities and finally he gets the guy down and we wipe.  Then we try again, taking just as long maybe a little less same end result.  Then we try farming the harpoons and running to the end.  This almost worked except when we got him on the ground none of the plate wearers picked him up and he came over and killed me.  Eventually the DPS gave up and left and I was with the warriors and then the other DPS left and there was no one to draw from.  We gave up at that point.  It sucks cause our tied to the instance and can’t try another group.  I hope I can do it today, for one there is an elder in this instance!

Thanks to the achievement system I finally got to kill omen.  I have wanted to for several years because I wanted the moonstone creator!  I started a group with a DK and when we had about 12 people we did him.  He wasn’t really that hard he just has a lot of HP.  So you need to get a lot of DPS to get him down in a reasonable time.  We had some stupidly geared Elemental Shaman that was doing like 4k DPS with us that did 46% of the damage lol

Since I always did the Lunar Festival for the rep I have most of the achievements.  Though even though I had 50 coins I don’t have that achievement, I still had 33 from last year though.  Will have to run around and get all the Nothrend ones and the then the Northrend Dungeon ones.   I really liked that title “Elder Laneer” I had before   I had it in beta while they were testing it till they added the Northrend parts.
