Adventures of a Dwarf Priest

I had to get up super early in the morning and go into work to get some off hours things done on Saturday so I knew I wouldn’t be able to do much.  I figured I wanted to get in a little fun before going to bed so I tried for a 10man vault.  I got in one really quick and it filled up quick, but then people kept leaving because we wouldn’t summon them (without a warlock).  Eventually they invited a warlock and we summoned some people and started.

After painfully going through the trash at the front it was very apparent that the DPS was terrible.  How terrible, you might ask?  The warlock they invited at the very end to get all these terrible people there was doing about 2300 dps.  The next person down from him was 1400, there were a few 1400s, then some 1100s then some sub 1000s…  I thought for sure we would wipe because we wouldn’t beat the enrage timer   But a tribute to how he is just a big loot bag, all these terabad people managed to kill him.  The drops were of course plate/mail and I went on my way.

Just before bed I went and did my explorer’s league daily.  I slayed my gargoyles over the edge by the horde side and remembered to loot them.  More often than not if I remember to try and loot them I usually get at least 1 green.  It is actually kind of rare that mobs killed with a vehicle are actually lootable.  The only other one I know of is the elemental oracle daily.

I got on this evening with the intent of getting in some of the quick raids like OS and Vault.  I managed to quickly get into a 25 man Vault just after I got my cooking quest finished.  It didn’t take them long to fill up, the healers were the only thing in short supply tonight it seemed.

We all got there and started up.  Things looked ok DPS  wise but as we started and the fight was dragging on I thought it seemed like people got lazy or something.  Sure enough we wiped to him…  This has only happened to me once before, that is how much of a  wuss he is you know   We came back though with a vengeance and defeated him.  I was the only Priest in the raid and guess what dropped, yes Valorous Raiments of Faith.  So of course I had no problem winning it   Perfect for my Shadow set!  Though currently my i214 robe is still more than good enough for my shadow set, I am trying to get my hit up and this will definitely help that out.

After that run I couldn’t find another raid that was starting except for a bunch of Naxx10 which I didn’t feel like doing.  So I got put myself up for Azjol-Nerub to make another run at that wand just for the hell of it.  I ended up going with a pretty good group and we tore through everything pretty fast.  We did wipe on the last boss because he glitched and appeared way far away from where he was and pounded, killing me  and 2 others.  The hunter that was with us says he sees it all the time, but that was my first.

While we were finishing the last boss off I get a tell from a guildie if I wanted to do Old Kingdoms.  It is about 40 minutes to bedtime, and apparently I didn’t at all recall how long the instance ran and said if everyone was pro I’d go.  So I joined right after I finished azjol then someone was already there and we summoned.  We were quickly in the instance but I forgot how big of one it was.  I didn’t get to go to bed till about an hour later.  On the bright side guildie needed the epic bracers that dropped off the last boss.

The last boss went very interestingly though, all the dps died to shadow players and it left me and the tank to finish the boss which we did.  The boss is a wuss the only hard parts is fighting your group.  Usually I don’t even fight them I just fear them and wait for everyone else to come help me.  I actually ended up having to kill mine so I could go help them

Happy April Fools Day!  I think WoW-EU had a much better April Fools than WoW-US   I think Opera had the best one of this year though!

I got on and noticed someone shouting for a healer for 10man OS, I didn’t answer right away finishing my cooking quest.  Once I was done they were still looking so I joined up.  That kicked off a string of quick raids with 10 man vault, and 25 man OS following with the same raid leader.

I can’t say I enjoyed myself healing so much, we had too many healers as usual, especially in the 25 man OS I think we had 6 healers.

I amused myself just before the 25 man started by watching some Diablo on TV   I’m sure I’m not the only one that thinks this thing looks like a TV hehe

All the bosses pretty much dropped plate and mail or melee dps gear.  Nothing exciting for me anyways.  I did win the bag of spoils from the 10 man OS which I had never done before.  I didn’t realize it had so much gold in it, 47g!    Between that and all the raids I think I made a little over a hundred gold.

Everything went so fast, and I was kept so busy I didn’t even have any down time to do my new tweeting thing   Was a good day though, perhaps I can get in a decent 25 man naxx and get some more valor tokens.

After my usual cooking quest I headed out this evening to do my Explorers Legaue daily.  It is the other daily I’ve been religously doing in addition to the cooking.  It is fast and I have my hearth over there so I can get there quick right now.

Since I was over there I decided to head up and get some glacial salmon for my cooking skillups.  It didn’t look like on the PTR that they made it any easier to get 450 like I thought they were going to so I just decided to go for it.  After getting two stacks of salmon I headed over to the Basin for some nettle fish.

While I was fishing there Inien got me into his 25 man vault he joined.  I figured I could get it out of the way.  I didn’t manage to get two full stacks of nettle fish before I had to head over though.  The run was easy as usual, he is just a big bag of loot after all.  Only interesting thing of note is there was one other Priest and he was Disc even!

Before bed I decided to run through some of the cooking and unfortunately I ended up skilling up really well with what I did have and that left me 1 skillup short of 450!  Totally bummed I decided it was time to go to bed though.  Tomorrow is another day!

I was going to go mess around on the PTR but it was having major issues so I went ahead and got on live.  I ended up quickly joining a 10 man Vault group and did that.  It was pretty fun, and the other healer was actually another Disc Priest.  Nothing dropped that mattered to me so I left after that.

I was thinking maybe I’d do a 25man vault after that but ended up in a 25man OS.  While I was waiting for that to come together I ran around and made my cloth for the week.  It is so convenient having it all in one place now   Eventually we filled up the group and started on it.  Things went fast and easy.  As usual there were too many healers so I didn’t have much to do

I also ended up looking horrible because I kept getting hit by the stupid fire wall.  I had never been in a group where the tank would move the dragon all the over the place which kept throwing me off.  Of course I can still heal and absorb the damage it isn’t a big deal but someone now always has that stupid mod that makes fun of the people   I think I got hit twice, but again I never seen anyone run around with the dragon before!

After that I ended up logging off live.  I stayed on Skype with Inien to listen to his horrible horrible Heroic HoS run.  After finishing up some non game related stuff I went and got on the PTR which was working only slightly better.  I purchased my Duel Spec and played a little bit with that system.  The way it is right now it doesn’t require anything to switch which is kind of neat.

I was messing with trying to create a smite build, but was really having trouble coming up with something that made sense after all the changes.  With the switch from BC to WOTLK they removed some of the talents in Disc that were useful for it, mainly the +hit for smite/mindblast and the extra damage/crit you could get.  They made some changes to Shadow Form that may allow me to use a lot of my current gear.  Your dots can now crit in Shadow Form which may make things interesting.

I’ve never been shadow in my life, but my smite isn’t looking as viable so perhaps I might actually given in and do a shadow build.  Who knows maybe I’ll like it.  Plus the other advantage is I might be able to speak with more authority about all things Priest, instead of just 2/3rds

I got on this evening and attempted to work on the Love is in the Air achievements.  My first barrier I ran into on that was the constant tells from everyone who remotely knew me to come do some version of Naxx with them.  I continued to run around to the different capital cities doing some of the activities.  I was just about to say screw it to the whole thing when I hit a string of the more rare achievements.    I have ended up with the black dress, the Picknick Basket, and the Truesilver Shafted Arrow (the flying goblin pet).   I thought well now I got all the hard ones I need to do the other ones now

I had checked the Heroic Daily while I was doing the cooking daily and noticed it was HoS.  I had been in the LFG for it while I was doing the holiday work.  Eventually I got a tell from someone and annoyed with the holiday stuff joined them.  He apparently had carefully crafted our group, as he was after some of the HoS achievements.  He had more achievement points than I had ever seen at just over 6200.   I can’t remember his name off the top of my head I’ll have to look it up in Karma.  Anyways we managed 2 of the tree HoS achievements one of which I hadn’t got.  The one on the last guy is really hard time time with the Oozes.  The bigger part of destiny again was the Rose dropped and yes I won it

So I did a lot of standing in front of people again following the stupid hearts, trying to manage the stupid number of things in my inventory to make all the crap.  Again I did this till I was about crazy and then put myself up for a 10 man OS. I was invited into one after a little bit.  The guy kind of annoyed me because after he invited me he told me that he was going to armory me and make sure I was good enough.  We did it easy enough as usual they bring too many healers 2 is enough everyone always brings 3   Oh and on this run I won the Majestic Dragon Figurine to replace my Spark of Life.  I didn’t really need the extra spell haste I have so much and it seemed given the randomness of the Spark that it would give me more mana regen.  When we were done they tried to get me to go to Naxx.  I went back to my achievements.

By the end of the evening I was close to done with all of them.  I even managed to get one of the Bag of Candies and got 5 of the 10 names you need.  I went all over to Pity the fool as seen here in this shot.  I heard a tank I’ve grouped with quite a bit starting up a 25 man Vault and joined up for that for another break.

While I was in Wintersgrasp I went by and got my Mammoth I kept forgetting to get with my shards.  I had more than plenty and you even get an achievement for it which I didn’t realize   We finished up the Vault which dropped all plate and mail gear as easily as usual and I finished up for the night.

I logged with having completed every achievement of the holiday except the ridiculous candy.  I intend to log in tomorrow every hour to at least try for it then while I’m doing my house work.

After several failed attempts at a 25 man Naxx today I did finally make it into one that stayed together and seemed capable of killing a boss.  Some how I managed to not take any screenshots while I was there but it went well.  If you look to your right you will notice that I got a few upgrades.  I managed to make out pretty well on this run   I came away with a new hat, a new ring, and a new robe.  This to go with the new cloak I also made myself today and the gloves I got in yesterdays OS run.

None of it was huge massive upgrades, of course at this point in the expansion there really aren’t any massive upgrades.  I did managed to bring my everything up a little bit with the combo of things I got including my crit which I had been trying to get higher.  Of course while the 25 man Naxx run was pretty successful, I remember exactly why I hate 25 man instances…  TOO MUCH WAITING.  I did a considerable amount of standing around which to me is not fun   I also feel like I contribute a lot less in a 25 man and there for find the 10 mans more interesting.

I mess around with Laneir a lot through the day too working on 75 and trying to get some of my rest exp used up   I ended the night staying up later than intended because I did one last instance to push me to 75

Just when I logged off Inien had joined a 10 man Vault and they still needed a healer.  So rather than have him wait around for one I got back on to help.  I hadn’t actually ever done a 10 man Vault before.  It of course was stupid easy as the 25 man, the big bag of loot hehe

We got back from a family outing and my son was down for a nap so I got on to see about finding some elders.  Right when I got on someone was calling for a healer for Heroic Gunrak.  I thought hey that instance only takes like 20 minutes and there is an elder in it!  So I joined this group, as usually I regretted it.  I think only one of them had ever done it   Here is a shot of the guy we wiped on when we attempted the second boss.

We wiped on him several times because people felt the need to stand in the purple goo.  They whined when we went to Eck, but that is where the elder is   It took several times to down him because their DPS was so bad he enraged and insta gibbed us.

When I got on in the evening I ran around and found all my Northrend Elders while I waited for Inien (who is feeling better thankfully) to get done with his Nexus run.  We got together a group for H UP which was the daily.

The tank told me before we invited him he had never done the instance before but he turned out to be really good.  In fact all of them were very good.  I also enjoyed having the boomkin along We downed the stupid guy on the mount really easily.  Man how I waited to kill him on Heroic.  Why do I have such a hard time finding quality people!  I hugged everyone after we killed him lol

The elder was just after the mounted guy and before this guy.  He was of course super simple   I think having Inien along was lucky.  I should make him wait for me and the daily more often!

After that I logged on Laneir and did some inscription work with Inien’s extra herbs   Then I was heading off to bed.  Then Inien apparently gets a tell from the tank we had in H UP wanting to know if he wanted to do Heroic Vault.  Inien tells me and I end up logging back on and joining too but I’m thinking it is only going to be like 20 minutes.  Well it took 20 minutes just to start and we wiped once   So I ended up going to bed later than I wanted.  It was sad too cause the PvE Priest robe dropped but it was the shadow priest version!  There were 2 other Priests besides me but they were both Holy.  I left though didn’t care about it, if only it had crit instead of hit
